Wham Bam Thank You Scam

Featured Replies

Not my title ... tis that of the video.

It's almost an hour long ... so be warned.

An Aussie (well, relocated Poms actually) was defrauded of $100,000

through a share scam from people based in Thailand.

.

Seen that one before. It is interesting to see the way he tried to track down the scammers.

Yes I saw this too ,,, seems he was scammed........ this all happened quite a few years ago ... Not anything recent

Not a bad watch. Production skills pretty good for a guy who isn't a film-maker. He does make some hard-to-watch mistakes both in and out of Thailand, but interesting.

I saw it before on the Chiang Mai forum, this guy's dreaming if he thinks they were operating from that pokey little apartment in the crappy looking block, from what I know these operations are big,well-funded and state-of-the-art technology like VOIP systems and the like! They also have security teams and corrupt officials on their side so maybe just as well he lucked out?
Sad story though,I think he got some closure by travelling to Chiang Mai,just think he was a very OCD person bordering on Mental Health problems!sad.png

^^ Oh ... OK ... I didn't know it had been posted before.

Apologies ...

Only one name for the bloke.

Fool.

Always been stunned as to how anyone could send large amounts of money to someone on the strength of an unsolicited phone call.

Quite a few people will suggest that he was greedy but there's sweet FA wrong with wanting to profit from investing money.

This cat just went about it in the wrong way.

Losing the money is bad enough but he could very easily been killed

Along similar lines to "Welcome to Hell" by Colin Martin, but with different outcomes....a very interesting read.

Twice.

As said ... apologies for that.

If you know me as a poster, you know that's not my usual go.

Just that I've not seen it posted here.

I'll try harder next time ... has anyone discussed SinSot recently?

.

No problem, first time for me.

Thanks for the link!

As someone has said, nice video. I have a good camera but I'm not sure if I could do any better.

No problem for me either.

This situation could also have ended up with the alternative outcome - scammed for $100,000 and ultimately killed for asking for your money back.

I would rather spend the post-scam time reflecting on why I was such an idiot. Lesson learned and move on.

I hadn't seen it before, but now wifi's shat, and it keeps buffering its arse off....not done the 'chilly' weather thread for a day or so.

Fool.

Prat also comes to mind.
