What can I do with a UK cheque?

Featured Replies

I got news that back in the UK, her majesties revenue and customs have kindly sent me a cheque for a tax refund.

I'll soon go home for Christmas and collect it.

But I'm not sure what I can do? I have no UK bank account anymore (closed because of inactivity), and I dont think I could use a cheque-cashing shop with no proof of address. To open a new bank account I am guessing I would also need a UK address + proof I live there.

ive got bangkok bank accout and i put the same checks as yours into my account,

it takes a month to clear

Agree with above. No problem putting a foreign check into an account. I've put plenty of US checks in UK bank accounts.
