Lets just hope the "yankee doodle dandies" dont take it upon themselves to sort the problems out...

he left out that they want the vote rigging/buying stopped, the results not tampered with and for it to be open and honest, this straight away wipes out the ptp vote....

So I guess Taksin will somehow pay off the EU? Apparently Yingluck is not very worried about "vote buying/tampering"...the only ones who seem worried about having an election are the THUGS who want to do away with the election and APPOINT their buddies to go feed at the trough....but never let the facts get in the way of delusions about how Taksin is somehow able to bribe millions upon millions of Thais to go into a private booth and do as they are told....and of course we all know that NONE of the rich Bangkok ELITE would ever ever do anything to feather their nests.

Thailands Election Commission (EC) has no objection to the European Union (EU) sending observers to monitor Thailands upcoming general election, Chairman Apichart Sukhagganond said on Monday.

After discussing and considering the EU request to send election monitors to the countrys July 3, Mr Apichart said the EC agreed to grant the permission, as he is confident that the election will meet international standards.

The polling agency head added that other international agencies related to election monitoring, including the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL), are also interested and have asked to take part in observing the polls.

The EC has acknowledged the requests and welcomed the agencies monitoring the general election on that day, he said. However, the related organisations must comply with the EC rules and regulations as well as the legal framework.

Asked whether there would be any negative impact on the election results if the EU makes any complaints regarding the elections, Mr Apichart said he strongly believed that the EU will endorse the poll results.

He stood firm in his belief that Thailands election process meets international standards and will be made efficiently, transparently and fairly.

The EC chief added, however, that the EU observers comments and suggestions are non-binding.

The Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) announced at noon today that a total of 50 countries and the United Nations have supported the government’s scheduled election on February 2.

cheesy.gif cheesy.gif cheesy.gif cheesy.gif Who the hell is that ALIEN Foreign Minister from the other planet?????..... cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Really funny comment.

He said that latest countries voicing support for the government are India, Bangladesh, and the United Nations.

Should someone tell him that the UN is not a country ?

Someone should tell you that there was a comma after "Bangladesh" making it clear that the UN wasn't being classed as a country.

Think it's a family member of Dr. Spock.

The announcement made was a lie, I wish the topic heading can clarify that. This last week, again I post== 50 showed CONCERN-NO comment on election.

ADMIN--please letters of concern were sent. Only 5 at the time backed the Feb 2nd election date.

Why mislead posters. ??????

Surapong claims now 50 countries support February 2 election

Where are the journalist on this? Elections without reform? Is that what other countries propose? What countries? What proof has he shared that they are backing a Feb. 2nd election?

Right, I got it... "Thaksin thinks and the world acts."

I guess the problem here is the fact that some on here apparently think reform should be done before elections, whether in fact, all over the world, in a democratic system, reform is performed AFTER elections, with a proper mandate from the electorate. Not the other way around.

This is exactly what Suthep and co should do, run for elections on a reform agenda, and see if this will gather enough support from the electorate. Trying to push reform without any electoral support will not gather any international support.

what is this bullshit, thais are so proud of themselves they never listen to anybody not thai

I thought nobody in Thailand ever cared what any farang ever thinks about anything - as many on here are so keen to keep reminding us. - EXCEPT when it suits them. Typical. What a lot of hot air....
