Where to buy Softbox lighting kit in Bangkok ?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I found some very nice and affordable softbox lighting kit on amazon for video, photo shooting, nothing that professional but good enough for my use, but the problem is that they don't ship that item to Thailand.

The brand and model of this lighting kit is: Fancierstudio, softbox lighting kit 9026S3 and you could have a look to the amazon page to see what it is: http://www.amazon.com/Fancierstudio-Digital-Continuous-Softbox-Lighting/dp/B0050K3DW2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1386149652&sr=8-3&keywords=kit+lighting+video

So my solution is to find such product on a Thai website or in a shop in Bangkok, could anyone recommend an address or website, where I could find the same equipment, or similar in the same range of price (around 150 USD) ?

Thanks in advance

I'd have a look around Fortunetown, at the Rama 9 MRT stop.

In MBK, on the top level, there is a very good photography equipment store with a wide range of studio lighting equipment. Sorry I do not remember the name of the place since I do not reside in BKK. They also carry a very good range of cameras and lenses. Hope this helps.

That's probably FotoFile, on the 5th floor. Unfortunately, I would imagine their pricing might be a bit more than what the OP has in mind.

Hello Curt and Fiddlesticks,

Thank you for your help and your advices, I have checked in Fortune Town at Rama 9 MRT station, but I didn't find something in the range of price I had in mind indeed.

Price for the same type of set is about three times more expensive, so I still hope to find a cheaper solution. So would you know any website similar to Amazon, Ebay or other from which I could find such prices in Thailand? I sent Fancier Studio an e-mail to see if they would want to ship to Thailand, I never got a reply.

I am also searching for alveolar sound-absorbing foam to lower the echo for the video shootings, asked already on another topic but didn't get replies so far. Do you have any idea about where to find it?

Thank you for your great help,

Sorry Max,

If push comes to shove, I order from B&H, Adorama or Calumet in the US. I just make sure they ship UPS because with Fed Ex or other overnight shipper, you really get raped with duty and tax.

Here in Thailand, I find my options are very limited.

Good luck,

Stix

Fiddles,

Use this to calculate duty and VAT and total landed costs . . .

I think it's only 3% import duty on cameras and lenses and 7% VAT.

But I know what you mean. Try being a Pentax user in Thailand. laugh.png
