Completing Visa Application Form - "Purpose of Current Visit"

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am 57 and would like to apply for the "O-A" (Long Stay) Visa for one year.

On the "Visa Application Form" there is a section: "Purpose of Current Visit".

I want to complete this sincerely, but am not sure how to complete it.

I Intend to keep strictly to the Visa requirements, but I would appreciate knowing how best to complete this particular section.

Regards,

Robert333.

Retirement

Hello Ubonjoe,

That is what I assumed but found the information a little confusing.

Here it mentions "retirement" for the "O-A" visa:

http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/44

But if you click on the link for the "O-A" visa, the page for its details does not mention "retirement":

http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/51

Nor do either of the two application forms, nor the "Required Documents" information section (previous link).

Thanks,

Robert333.

This type of visa may be issued to applicants aged 50 years and over who wish to stay in Thailand for an extended period without the intention of working.

This is from the embassy website which is their way of saying retirement. Just put " retirement" in the relevant section on the application form and it will be fine.

I did the same a number of years ago 'retirement' is acceptable
