December 19, 201312 yr Greetings all, I finished at one company and am moving on to the next with a three week gap in between (old company is canceling my old visa). My new company requires that I have at least 2 weeks left on my visa when I begin in early January. At the moment I think my only option is flying somewhere and getting a two month tourist visa. However, I'm looking to see if there is an in-country option to bridge the gap between my two Non-B visas. My current visa is set to expire in less than a week. Many thanks in advance.
December 19, 201312 yr Do have a visa now or is it an extension of stay from an immigration office? There is no option other than a 7 day extension. Getting a single entry tourist visa is the best option.
December 19, 201312 yr Author I'm on a 7 day extension at the moment. Sounds like I'm headed on a vacation somewhere.

Best your new employer applies for your WP (application filing does not require any specific visa) using form WP1. Form_tt1.pdf Take the correct papers with you to a Thai Consular Facility (see link below) and you should be able to get a 90 day single entry non 'B' which you can then use to pick up your new WP once it's ready. http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/123/15388-Non-Immigrant-Visa-%22B%22-(for-Business-and.html
December 20, 201312 yr Author Is there a place that does a single entry visa in one day (come in the morning, pickup that afternoon)?
December 20, 201312 yr Not in neighbouring countries, all have apply day one and pick-up afternoon day two. (Cambodia is 4 days even).
December 20, 201312 yr Author I don't mind flying a bit. I just want to get it done in one day. Any suggestions on places within a 4 hour flight?
December 20, 201312 yr Not that i know of. Myanmar, Indonesia and Vietnam are less frequently used, so not sure on them. But believe the rule there is also pick-up next day.
December 20, 201312 yr Penang will do same day but the application has to be submitted early morning which eliminates being able to fly in on the same day you do it.
December 20, 201312 yr Author Thanks for all the useful info. I've decided to drive across the closest border, get two weeks, then fly in and out early January to get a month. Annoying, but I don't want to stay abroad for more than a day (family visiting at the moment).
December 20, 201312 yr Author If you are from one of the G7 countries you now get a 30 day entry at border. Wow, I didn't know that. Since when did that happen? I'm from the states. I might just do a border run by land in the beginning of January instead of wasting money on a flight. So those services like Jack's golf would get me 30 days? I hate doing border crossings by myself because of all the scumbag "officials."
