PATTAYA: -- Pattaya Police set-up a checkpoint in Soi 17 off Pattaya Third Road, outside of the Eden Hotel, in the early hours of Thursday and caught suspected drug users and a man in a Mini Cooper who was in possession of a loaded 38 caliber handgun.

Officers pulled over the car and its driver Khun Saranyapong aged 24. A search of the vehicle uncovered the handgun which was loaded with six bullets.

At Pattaya Police Station, the suspect claimed he borrowed the car from his boss, who owns a Highway construction company. He was on his way to pick up coffee from a local convenience store when he was caught and claims no knowledge of the weapon being inside the vehicle which he assumed belongs to his boss and registered owner of the car.

If I ever found myself driving a Mini, I would need a gun too. To shoot myself.

I thought they were standard accessories on Mini Coopers? coffee1.gif

how about fingerprints on bullets and gun to make sure it is his. after all he denies charges

just how much does a Mini Cooper cost in the LOS, not your average daily runabout, about the price of a top range Merc or BMW, so if he does not come from a rich family it sure has to belong to his boss, not a kids toy.

Truth be told, the driver is more likely to pose a threat to life driving the vehicle than he is by having the gun!

Mini Cooper. A loaded gun. Thai driver. "Dangerous Cocktail"
