The money would be donated with compliments of TV and the OP

I have searched high & low in the Thaivisa structure & I can't see you in any position where you are allowed to make any sort of pledges or decisions.rolleyes.gif

Also, you are playing very close to the wind here with the solicitation rule.

Dear OP.

This is Thaivisa.com. The forum where the hottest topics are like: "I paid 15 satang to much for my internetbill" or "How to live my dreamlife for 20.000 a month??" or (a personal favorite) "The validity of the 7/11 rebate stamps"

And on those posters you will impose a posting-fee of 50 baht??cheesy.gif

It would mean people who were desperate to be heard would post, not those who actually had something worthwhile to say.

FORUM: a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. Not bought and sold. Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

correct.so, what is your point ? Have u replied to the wrong topic maby.

NO....he is spot on.

A very silly idea IMO. If people wanted to give to this charity they will do. Personally I contribute to my maximum through DD and would resent being cojoled in this way and it would likely inhibit my postings along with others.

There are many, many, many worthwhile causes in this World and people have the right to select those of their preference to help out.

Of course, the OP's is a good cause. Just make it known in the best way possible rather than selecting it for special consideration by TV users.

Besides, the administrative costs would eat away at the benefits even more than they do for most charities, unfortunately. How do u know what admin costs would be? U have no idea.

A charity donation is a voluntary contribution, not a charge.

Any idea to help the children suits me . I have a little bitter taste in my mouth now , donated 3000 baht to said orphanage for a lawn mower so the children could have a clean grassed area to play on . There was a guy who did the lawn mowing and done a great job. Now the lawn mower sits unused as the nice guy left.

I will still help you in any way aveabeeror2

. Thanks. Amazing the excuses people are coming up with to not help . The dumbest one hinted that an orphanage would not appreciate donations if the money was solicated. Any excuse so that they can keep posting junk 24/7

OP, you have told us before that money is not a problem for you.

So, why not set an example and donate?

I do , kiddies clothes to orphanage,Pattaya.how did u deduce that I do not? Stop assuming.

Do noy change the subject OP.

I assumed and keep assuming that you do not donate 50 baht for each nonsensical trollish post that you make.

To u with poor reading skills, read my topic again, slowly. I asked for opinions, not soliciting donations.

I think it's a good suggestion, but unfortunately not realistic. Forums rely on viewer 'hits' ==>more advertising revenue from both in-house adverts and Google adverts. A high number of posts, especially controversial posts is exactly what the forum needs,

(You think the travel forum TripAdvisor is visited to get real reviews of hotels? No - it's because people love to read damning reviews about crappy hotels...)

P4P (!) pay for post is not a viable solution.

The word is 'you' not 'u', numbnut.

How can you critisize someones reading skills when you do not even know how to write.

Fine imposed, donate 50 Baht.

Thaivisa would quickly become not the top expat site on Thailand. Content, and thus the success of this site, is provided by the user, you... you would essentially be charging them to spend their time making money for someone else. While a heart-warming idea, it is also a tad naive. You would be better off pelting the owner with reasons why he should donate direct, though in all likelihood he already does.

. If I was to ever post a nonsensical or trollish post I most certainly donate 50 baht,I assume so anyway.
