City hires 4 college students to be faces of ‘New Look Pattaya’

PATTAYA:--Four university students won 100,000 baht and one-year contracts to be the public face of city as part of the city’s “New Look Pattaya” advertising campaign.

Launched last month, the “New Look” project seeks to rebuild the city’s image. Educational events at helping tourism-related businesses promote their offering began in November. Now the city wants to hire fresh young Thai faces to entice foreign tourists to return to the city next year.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome said the promotional campaign will feature four ads themed “more nature,” “more color,” “more business,” and “more life.”

Exactly. They obviously aren't the slightest bit interested in getting to the ROOT of the big local problems.

Sadly the governments lack of action in stopping the endless scams is clear cut evidence

that they are involved financially up to their necks. Otherwise all the scams would be stopped by

tomorrow afternoon.......

Or.......here is a novel idea. Fix the sidewalks ????

Those smiling LIGHT skinned young people do like very wholesome though! I associate that look more with a small town in the American Midwest or Mormon Utah than Pattaya though. The creators of this PR campaign -- who exactly do they think they are fooling?

More typical nonsense. Just stop the scams, that is all the tourists want.

How come the government is too dense to see this ??

You are assuming the government wants to stop it. Nothing, and I mean nothing happens here on a continual basis without everyone up the food chain getting greased. That is how Thailand operates.
