Mon 23 Dec: Horrendous traffic on the 7 Motorway

Featured Replies

The traffic is tailed back, bumper to bumper for miles on the 7 between Chonburi and Pattaya. It's a nightmare. No idea why. Never seen it like this before. Avoid it if possible.

What a surprise, according to many posters on here Pattaya is a right s*** hole that nobody should ever be seen dead in, Seems like s few people from Bangkok do like Pattaya after allsmile.png

Maybe they were going to Rayong. thumbsup.gif

Anyway it was really bad. My guess is there was a huge smash combined with the holiday period added to people escaping protests in Bangkok and on top it is the tiddlywinks world champs in Pattaya this week and that always draws big crowds.

(The last bit was a skit on Pattaya's hub of [very] minority sports claim to fame. Did you guess?)

Anyone else get caught in it? If you did you probably still haven't arrived.

I saw no unusual traffic on 7 when I was on it this morning at about 11.30 am. Maybe something happened later on.

Must have been a smash then. It was insane, a tailback stretching over 15 miles.

There's a construction site on the 7 Pattaya bound. Narrows the road down from 4 to 2 lanes.

Add one small collision and it will be a parking lot all the way up to Bangkok.
