Protesters storm DSI, fail to find legal-case documents
THE NATION

BANGKOK: -- THE STUDENTS and People's Network for Thailand's Reform (STR) yesterday stormed into the Department of Special Investigation office on Chaeng Wattana Road in protest against the agency's freezing the assets of 38 protest leaders.

Hundreds of police have been deployed from Sing Buri and Saraburi to keep order around the DSI compound. They carried shields and batons and used metal barricades to block the buildings to prevent protesters from breaking inside.

DSI officials have taken away documents and placed them in other buildings for fear that the protesters would take them. They also turned off their communication devices in case the protestors broke in and tried to use them.

STR adviser Nitithorn Lamlua instructed 100 women to line up and take hold of the police's shields and batons. He said the group came to the DSI to search for documents on cases against them.

They used plastic bags to cover the security cameras and stormed into the second and third floors of the building. However, the leaders instructed the protesters to leave after they were unable to enter any of the rooms, which were firmly locked.

They know that if they use force with "peaceful protestant", the sympathy from the military will shift!!!

Look at what happened a few weeks ago!

"STR adviser Nitithorn Lamlua instructed 100 women to line up and take hold of the police's shields and batons. He said the group came to the DSI to search for documents on cases against them."

Pretty weak defense .... probably corrupt male officials getting women to do the hard work and to protest the women. Then again they are probably more useful than the men in brown ... hell have no fury like a Thai women scorned

100 women "take hold of the Police's batons"?

I say is this a new tactic? did the Policeman have a smile on their faces? hoping to relax them so much that they were ineffective? has it come (forgive pun) to this?

They did not expect to found any document!

They told LONG in advance that they where coming and gave plenty of time for the DSI to prepare them self!

They are doing this as a sign of defiance and civil disobedience against a corrupt government!

The protester have chosen to use this method against the government!

Have a look at this webpage "120 Methods of Non-Violent Civil Disobedience" => http://peterlachnewinsky.wordpress.com/2010/09/17/120-methods-of-non-violent-civil-disobedience/

PS. In my opinion it is better then using the violent method from the Reds! But it is SLOWER!

A bit like one of Tarit's press conferences when he says in advance what they plan to do about a suspect giving them time to empty bank account and leg it. Ironic.

WAs he there by the way or cowering in Nong Khai with YL ?

So they "stormed" the building but gave up on the locked doors.

clap2.gif Yes hardly a storm, more like they breezed in.

Think they meant a --storm in a tea cupsmile.png

Fortunately that fury was never expressed fully as no MEMBER was exposed. Otherwise, balloons would be flying, or ducks would be quacking... cheesy.gif

This is beginning to look more and more ugly for Suthep. When he allows those students from the STR to storm the DSI, that only adds more nails to his coffin.

Amazing the lawlessness being allowed. The striking difference between the so-called Reds and Yellows is the Yellows have the military so the can violently crackdown anytime, like in 2010. If the current government tried to enforce the law as it should be, by knocking some heads and and clearing the streets and arresting the revolutionaries...well they just can't do it.

And strangely enough, the regime who ordered the smack down in 2010 wasn't even an elected government!!! But brought together by judicial coup and military strong arm tactics putting the Western educated Abhisit with that criminal thug and banned politician from Buriram.

Ha ha ha

Please Note for those that watch too many TV Movies

False

The people vote in the Government

Fact

The People vote in their MP's

The Mp's then vote in the Government with the most votes by the most MP's

so if the number of MP's change

so can the governing party

I would like to see you control the action of every person, or group of people when 100's of thousands are involved

so far there has been no blood thrown

No arson

No barricades of tyres etc built on the street

I do not support his methods but I do say he has done a good job stopping the things that the Red shirts where able to do

There probably were never any case documents to seize, these bank freezes were probably done as an offensive tactic against the protestors and not following proper procedures because they have no real law breach to attach to the paperwork.

It would ask for which official law has been broken, yet these laws are not official and are made up as they go along.

Why not over a period of time, build government offices in the north?

let the yellows burn Bangkok, it's their home.

over simplified yes but .................wai2.gif

why do you stop their

why not have a Nrth Thailand and a Central south Thailand, Tat would also bring peace to Thailand

I ofter wondered if there was a poll taken on this , what would the vote be ????

It was approved by the court.

Are you saying that the Thai judges are in Thaksin Payroll?

The DSI is a group of lunatic corrupt people itself

As are PT, suthep's fascist council and any number of involved groups in this ever increasingly chaotic situation. Things really are spiralling out of control.

Exactly these fascist thugs think they have a 'right' to storm any building they choose.

The fascist nature of Suthep and his thugs-for-hire becomes more apparent each day & with each piece of anarchy.

Was it approved by the court? The first time they declared their intentions to freeze the accounts it was done without court approval and they were picked up on this.

But if it was eventually indeed approved at court level, what was the crime? Insurrection? sedition?? We all know that is trumped up charges anyway.

I wonder what your comments were in 2010 when your lot were creating deadly mayhem on the streets?

Oh... I get it, you are new.

Come back when you have a little more experience.

I suspect the comments were a little differant especially when the same facist/non elected government of the time decided to ,murder 70 people, of course being the scumbags they were, and still are, the tin pot generals and their lacky hi-so political affiliates allowed 52 of the 70 to be murdered by shooting them in the back. I think that just about illustrates clealy the cowardly and facist nature of your scumbag friends that still prevails to this current day. Of course only in Bangkok as they have no b*lls to take it into the country.
