Charcoal Stick

Featured Replies

Guys.. My ex girlfriend had a charcoal stick in my fridge but when we broke up.. She took it so i am wondering where i could buy a new one of these.. Ive checked the local TOPS and foodland and had no luck.. Btw i live in the Rama 3 Yannawa area.

Not sure what you are calling a charcoal stick, but it is common to put a piece of charcoal in the fridge to absorb odors and keep things like onions from transfering their odor to other foods, it does work and any piece of charcoal will work.

Thats the one mate... I dont have a use for a whole bag of charcoal but maybe thats my only option

Find one of the street vendors that use it for cooking and pay him/her 5 baht for a couple of pieces! My FIL makes it in the backyard, usually 10+ 50 kilo bags at a time, but I live 250 kilometers from Bangkok.

If you're in need of food grade carbon charcoal (fine fine powder) that crafters use in soap and other cosmetics, the teachers supply store at Ekkamai sells 150 grams for 60-80 baht. We mix 50/50 with bicarbonate of soda (baking powder) for the fridge.

Todd.. Will definitely have a look there.

Do you just place the powder mixture in an open jar/container?

Yes we do 50/50 in a small tuna can, works like a charm even in the room as my FIL is a smoker.

When you exit Ekkamai use the exit for the bus terminal and walk past the bus terminal, you will cross a soi and it's there on your left. Pink song I believe, when you enter the store the chemicals are on the second floor near the back.

This is what you're looking for.
