Extension of registration demanded by Pheu Thai

The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Pheu Thai party on Thursday demanded that the Election Commission extend the candidacy registration period and relocate venues for registration to reduce tension.

Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit submitted the demand via the director of the EC's secretariat office Suranee Pontawee.

The extension is needed as the registrations for Partylist and constituency MPs, which ended yesterday, could not be held in a total of 28 constituencies in eight southern provinces after protesters blocked the registration venues.

Prompong said that in order to decrease tension and prevent the blocking from recurring, registration spaces should be relocated to central venues in the province.

Action should also be taken Suthep Thaugsuban, the leader of the current protests, for leading the blocking of registration, Prompong said, adding, the EC should be punished for negligence of duty if it failed to do as demanded.

A group of red shirt protesters meanwhile gathered in front of the EC office on Chaeng Wattana Road to give moral support to Prompong and his team.

Why don't you answer the question,,, "so you think that the shootings and beatings are NOT those of Suthep's supporters"???

I believe that any red yellow or purple found guilty of this kind of thing should face the full weight of the law. you obviously don't.

Also would you go and wear a red shirt and walk through that bunch of extremists??? I think not.

Like I said mate get a grip, but hey if you support a man that's quoted as saying I do not respect falangs, go ahead and see how you fair after this guy grab's power...

I will answer it ... No I do not think it is Suthep supporters doing all the shooting. IMO in is people on the gy in Dubai's payroll. Why would Suthep hire people to shot up is on protest guards? The events at Rajamangala were all started by reds rolling into town ... had they stayed away a few less would have died. Reds and PTP are to blame for all shots fired IMO

Prompong is a criminal, sentenced to 2 years in prison, he has nothing to say but goodbye. As far as an extension goes, i could care less, but you have to admit it's funny. PTP says we have no choice, the election must take place february 2 no matter what, but if things aren't going our way, we will ask for an extension. This government realize that they have lost control of the economy, even issan won't vote for them in 2 years. They must make their cash grab now, if they win the election, they and all their powerful friends will get rich. That is what it's about now, grabbing the brass ring, before their evil empire crumbles.

I guess the EC first needs to check if legally the registration period can be extended. At least I assume the Pheu Thai spkeperson is not suggesting the EC does something against the constitution or related laws. rolleyes.gif

So far the anti government protesters don't even come close to the deaths and damage the red did in 2010. They are angels in comparison.

In addition to that they have honorable intentions.

But I do have to agree with the PTP on this the registration time should be extended.

In case in one wonders I don't give a dam about legal or illegal constitutional or unconstitutional.

I care about what is right and wrong for Thailand.

As far as I am concerned the legal only people can stuff it. Leave the elections alone and do some thing about the corruption.

Luckylew,

I'm not surprised that you would have a one sided comment here on this subject, and yeah it's good that you do have a comment and I support it, unlike Suthep...

Can I ask you is English your first language, or just more than a few type o's, no matter, either way, there is good and bad on both sides and any who disagree with this fact are simply deluding themselves... Secondly where in my post did I say that ("Suthep supporter's are doing all the shooting") I didn't.

so I sugesst to you have a re-think of the man who dose not respect falang's... OOHHH how well he would do as a representative of Thailand and a diplomat on the world stage... YA THINK???w00t.gif

Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit

http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/pheu-thai-spokesman-gets-one-year-jailterm-without-suspension/

The Appeals Court on Thursday sentenced Pheu Thai party spokesman Prompong Nopparit and another Pheu Thai member to one-year imprisonment without suspension after finding them guilty of defaming the former president of the Constitution Court.

He was sentenced in two instances.
He is a convicted criminal.
He is still the spokesman of the PT Party.
Running around on bail.

No place for criminals and/or corrupt people in government, parliament or as a civil servant.

The EC have made it clear they are in bed with Suthep. That said the police should have

escorted candidates inside the buildings. coffee1.gif

Or could we say, the EC made it clear that they are NOT in bed with Pheu Thai, same as more and more people every day.

Oh Whoopee..... soon to be 45 bahts to the $1.00 Keep up the good work Mr Suthep... we Farangs all love you..!

yes one wonders how much of this has a personal economic basis of those involved and nothing at all to do with politics. lot of money at stake/ventured, and to be gained it seems.

perhaps they all go and lay big shorts on the currency before they start.

What a simple solution. But what happens if one person, or even a dozen, claim that police refused them entry to register? Should only "approved" candidates be allowed?
