Hi to you all,

Virgin poster so please be gentle with me! I'd just like to thank everyone involved with this forum for providing a real goldmine of information. Congratulations to you all.

Here is my predicament. My year's marriage extention expires on 13th July. I can meet all the requirements for renewal so hopefully there shouldn't be a problem (fingers crossed!).

My wife and I are in the process of buying a house. We've had an offer on one excepted and are possibly going back this weekend to pay a deposit. But as yet no set dates for anything.

My query is, if I move during the visa application process what address do I put on the application form? Would it be better to try and move before I submit my paperwork to Suan Phlu

(provided everything is ok with the house of course) or better to get my new 12 month extention first, then move. How close the 13th can I leave my application?

I'm not sure if this complicates matters even more but my original marriage extention last year was made in Pattaya where we were living at the time. Have since relocated to Bangkok. Any problem in renewing at Suan Phlu?

I hope this makes some sense to you all. My head is spinning at the moment and any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

SL.

I would not be concerned with the address - just put wherever you are and if/when you move let them know. The wife can explain the plans when she is interviewed. Should not be any problem doing in Bangkok and they should have your paperwork as all have to be approved there in any case. I will allow a couple of days before expiration just in case you need to get a new this or that or the bank letter gets lost. I am sure they could extend you for a few days even if this happened but better to be a couple of days early in my opinion.

Lop,

Thanks alot for the quick response. That certainly eases my mind a bit. My wife spoke to the estate agent this morning and was told that upon paying the deposit we have upto 30 days to exchange contracts and arrange payment. That would give us a moving date of end June. Then I could submit my application 1st week in July with my new address.

Sound ok?
