January 6, 201412 yr Hi We are looking at bringing our dog with us when we move to Chiang Mai. She is a well trained house dog [about 20kg]. The letting agents seem to be suggesting that owners will not really be that happy about having a dog inside there place, only outside. We are looking at a house not a condo, so there will be no building restrictions. Has anyone had any experience of this, or is this just speculation on the part of the letting agent. thank you Edited January 6, 201412 yr by br0wnd0g23
January 6, 201412 yr I have three dogs (14kg, 22kg, 37kg). They all live inside. I have never had a problem renting a house. I've been in Thailand for almost four years and lived in four different houses. Sure, some people don't want dogs, but I was very clear from the beginning: "I have three dogs and they live inside" - The realtor found me a house with no problem (and my budget wasn't very large either) Edited January 6, 201412 yr by dotx
January 6, 201412 yr If you're up front you should find a place without too much grief, after all this is barking dog land. You could offer an additional security deposit against damage or mess if you find a place you like.
January 6, 201412 yr Author Great thank you for the replies. It did seem a bit strange that all owners wouldnt allow dogs.
