One for the ladies. How do you deal with hypocracy? ("lighthearted" discussion!)

Hypothetically speaking, hypocrisy has handed us an hysterically humorous history. Unlike you, who Hopelessly shoots from the hips.

You go Pats biggrin.png

And why the f shouldn't i? I have my views and feelings about alot of things. But it is a while since i have been attacked like that.

OK, she may not understand the humour about the Feminazi Brigade a few years ago.

I can knit, what's so wrong with that. George Clooney can knit.

Don't complain about being insulted, when the first line you posted was to call us feminazi's. Your so-called inside joke was insulting and demeaning. I am used to that from the male contingency in the forum, so I'm hardly fragile. However, I did not expect it from a female member. This thread was actually receiving some interesting well thought replies even if views differed. How many threads in the female section of the forum actually spark interest? Thanks for coming along and insulting, then turning the thread into a joke with posting twaddle like you feel like belly dancing. Isn't that what Facebook is for (not that I post those kinds of inane updates on there either). I address you directly, you refer to me as "she". You may be old, but that isnt very mature.

patsys comment is valid imo & the feminazi mention was a joke, we have been called feminazis on thaivisa for over a decade now, it's so stupid it's actually funny now.

My mum, 65 yo, gives no shits about men, at all, she has little view on them & the only ones she likes are the ones directly out of her blood line, the rest she can live without. She also can't be bothered to get bothered by sexism as long as they (sexist men) don't get bothered that she will treat them with the contempt she feels for them. If someone is mannered & civil then she will reciprocate but she has zero time for the rest of their nonesense. I think that comes with age & also a change in what acceptance you require. My mum requires no acceptance by man or anyone else for that matter & she certainly doesn't want any of them in a sexual way & after menopause claims that without all the hormones she can see what they really are about & wishes that younger women could benefit from the same enlightenment. It might stop many of us from wasting our time & youth on waste of spaces. (Her words, age is a wonderful thing)

For me, if I worked in an office with nudie calenders then I would have them removed, it is unprofessional if nothing else. I also have the right to a peaceful & inoffesnive work space. If someone thought that was me "making a fuss" then fine, I am making a fuss. The opinion of an idiot is worth nothing.

If the calendar was in someones home, up to them but what alot of men forget is that the world isn't about them alone & overt sexualisation of women IS offensive TO women, esp in work or public environments.

That someone personally doesn't think so or thinks they have the right to see it at all times doesn't make them right. End of. But if men isist on demanding it then women should & will insist on having that same right.

The hypocrits can kiss it.

Perhaps when making inside jokes its best to make it clear that its a joke. Avoids misunderstandings like this one.

Sorry to you all, except Lara. You really need to take a chill pill.

I shall continue to add my sometimes a bit dippy comments here. You just have to live with them and i find what you wrote above to be offensive. The other women on here have got to know me over the years, and put up with me.

Do you like Bruce Springsteen?

Look!!!

...and a killed discussion. Thanks.

It's not that people disagree, it's just that it's painfull to read speeches full of misandry.

Boo hoo

And what about speedos that most men wear on the beach and at the pool so you can clearly see the shape of their d.....? Do you like it or find it unattractive?

If i were a woman and a man showed up wearing something like that i would ask him to cover that thing with something. I think it looks funny. Might as well wear a g string.

A quick glance over Lara's past contents indicates to me that Ms. Lara is infact a bloke (for example what woman use an avatar like that) so please ladies, don't take his (sorry her) posts too seriously smile.png

Boxclever, there are a few well known members of this forum that could attest to the fact i am a woman.
What is it about my other posts that would have you think im male?
Is it my post inquiring about duty/tax or the one where i asked about data packages, or maybe it was the post i made where i said was moved to tears about a video another member posted? Yes, very manly.
Boxclever, you really arent very clever are you.,

Apply some logic and consider if a male forum member would take the time to make a thread about dealing with hypocracy..most are too busy writing about whether or not the 18 year old bar girl they met is really in love with them rather than their retirement fund.
Regardless, even if i WERE a "bloke", my posts are well thought out and worthy of being taken seriously...unlike your pointless post that serves no purpose whatsoever.
As for my avatar..did you even bother to read why i have put it up?
..in any case, you must have known some pretty uptight women in your life if none of them showed appreciation for the male physic. Or maybe you just didnt stimulate any enough.
Now, if you have nothing actually constructive to contribute to the thread other than the "tiz a bloke" rubbish (ive read that rubbish on other male dominated forums too, as i work in a male dominated field..its almost as if men cant comprehend a women having strong and articulate opinions), then please kindly dont clutter up the thread further.
THanks.

....with an aim to get back on topic (if anyone is interested in continuing the discussion that is), can i just say that with regards to feminism..that i had never even thought much about it or what it represented when i lived in my home country. Not that i think about feminism in Thailand as such, but i am certainly aware of the how much more unbalanced it is here (in favour of males). I realise what feminism (in its truest sense) has done for us due to seeing the lack of it here in Thailand.
I am not talking about in your face *fk you, im a woman, so dont open a door for me* craziness that men seem to think feminism represents, im talking about the respect that women have a right to.

I remember as a child seeing a "girly" calendar in a garage. I was only about 7 years old. I found it extremely uncomfortable, but couldnt understand why. It was just a weird realisation of there is a half naked women presented in a sexual manner for everyone to see, when really that should be something private. I was just a kid and knew nothing about feminism, but i knew instinctively what wasnt quite appropriate for public consumption. As an adult im no prude, but i still think my gut instincts as a child were right.
