Wife on Ed visa, can she...

Featured Replies

Wife has Ed visa for a real bachelors degree (not a visa-mill.) She will renew 1x/year. Can she finance a laptop anywhere?

Not usually without income, true anywhere in the world.

Look at it from the vendor's POV, how're they going to get their property back if she gets on a plane?

If transients were a good risk statistically they'd do it, but we're not. . .

PS you do know you can get a decent notebook for under 20K right?

laptops are not that expensive. Why would she need to finance one?

Laptops are really cheap. Unless you are like me and want an alienware for 80,000 bahts.

We should be grateful for the reminder that it's best to save up in advance for consumables, save the debt for income-producing true assets.

The unwillingness to save money, to live frugally, taking holidays, buying presents, clothes etc on credit is a major factor in the economic decline of the west.

To the extent posters say "the Thais do it too", I reply "not the smart ones". . .

Well, thet 20k is way out of our price range since it takes all my disability just to live and the 20k we have in savings will pay the tuition. Thanks for the ideas, though :)
