My 11 year old has a school trip to Saraburi from Bangkok, from tomorrow Friday 10th to Sunday 12th 2013. They are visiting an Army camp up there as a Children's Day related field trip. The school and Thai family still all say "no problem", that there will be no impact around Bangkok until Monday 13th. The kids will be safe, they assure me.

What do TV members think? Apart from my general fears of Thai bus drivers going up the Highway to Saraburi with bus loads of kids, I am worried that something might happen - even a traffic blockage due to the movements of troops, protesters etc heading to Bangkok. My kid has been on several overnight field trips before so I hope it's not just me being too clingy.

I'm reasonably well informed (I hope!) about the upcoming events but still have this nagging fear of not having my kid under my direct control this weekend.

Anyone else in the same position? Any good advice?
