Yingluck assures safety for Bangkokians during protest

Never since Mr. Roger's Neighbourhood has anyone managed passivity quite like this woman. It seems time itself could come to a stop and there would still be time for tea, especially if she is in the presence of Thaksin's cousin, the ever irrepressible Surapong. And yet, naughty reality comes yet again to ruin everyone's parade. Well, children, everything will be alright. We will go ahead with the election, because a parliament that cannot open will put us into perpetual dissolution. Doesn't that sound like fun ? And there won't be a coup. Because - well - there just won't be, that's all.

So what would you suggest, take a leaf out of an old PM's book - arm the troops and send them in? I think passivity on the caretakers governments part is the most sensible course of action. Of course you cannot accept that because it would betray your stance on hating everything Shinawatra and your mantra about a government not being formed after the election.

Repeat it often enough and hope it will come true appears to be your motto.

Her being passive is not a choice. She doesn't have any power to do anything against the protestors. Without the army to back her, she's toothless and she knows it.

but ... but ... Ms. Yingluck has the complete police force available. why would she need the military?

It is not a question of Yingluck behaving like a Nobel Peace prizewinner. She simply MUST ensure there is no government instigated violence or else she'll be in the same boat as Mark and Sooty.

Can you imagine poor Tart having to charge the kid sister of his boss with manslaughter or murder too?

She assure? whistling.gif

She should just ask her side stop using the dirty method hurting the protesters.

Afterall they are still the citizens of Thailand.

Well Im off out of the way sunday to Hua Hin to watch it on the tv with a beer or two and a bag of pop corn

Leaving by Taxi before the shut down

yes, and there will be no floods in Bangkok next year with Yingluck,

she will be overseas as usual and not notice,

Yingluck the dumbest PM in the world

Yingluck says whatever she thing the public will believe, but she know that what she says and what will happen are too completely different things.

She is a product of the Shinawatra systemic media-based approach to politics. Despite requiring the support of the agrarian mass to win, Thaksin and much more so Yingluck exist on a platform of media playout rather than actual issues. Canned version is that they spammed TV etc. a lot but they repeated the same basic stuff over and over without going into any specific details, a lot of demagogic faces on Tshirts, placards, etc. Its all media over content.

Yingluck went one step further, her being a lady and able to look good on camera, which in my opinion she does (mostly). She is a little like "aidoru" in the Japanese pop culture, she only exists on TV, she is a remote inaccessible star in the sky, which many want to look at but will never see up close or understand the nature of. This is Yingluck's politics, photo ops, media events, but no actual knuckle-bloodying debates on critical issues at a ground level. Its all aidoru, a star in the heavens, remote and decorative and largely useless.

Great post, Yunla

And...her ass will always be covered in "rich Corinthian leather" biggrin.png

How dare you calling PM useless?! She just singlehandedly guaranteed safety for all the residents of Bangkok, it's over 10 000 000 people you know. Can you put such an achievement on your resume?

that guy on the left was in the Thunderbirds wasn't he ?

Yes, and he's aged considerably since he quit the music industry and hooked up with the Shinwanistas.

She is not in a position to assure that! Why this woman always feels the need to talk some crap, I don't know.

All this government and police talk about 3rd hand conspiracies should be backed up by some details about what they are doing about it

Sorry I do not even think she is a "clean white mask"

IMO as corrupt and evil as the rest of the clan

The police have already announced they will not be packin'. (Leave your guns at home, son, don't take your gun to town--Johny Cash)
