PJcm
I know that there is a Facebook page for where the traffic cops are set up in CM; it is in Thai, I can read it but slowly, does anyone know if there is similar page in English? I just try to avoid them as they cause more traffic jams then are warranted
JingerBen
Traffic police checkpoints in Chiang Mai... Google maps. This is a useful resource to help you avoid traffic congestion and the possibility of being waylaid by these highwaymen.
Mestizo
There is this one: https://www.facebook.com/ChiangMaiCheckpoints?ref=hl But its no longer maintained, as I don't live in Chiang Mai. More than happy to pass it off to anyone willing to maintain it. -Mestizo

BlackArtemis
https://www.facebook.com/CMdaan http://www.paintleb.com/map3/ Wearing a helmet, having a license, and not drinking are also great deterrents... Thai friend just spent a night in Jail and it cost him 20,000B

Thailand
Isn't this post about simply trying to flout the laws of Thailand?
BlackArtemis
Pretty much, as much as I hate the low low BAC levels for a DUI here, that's why these sites exist. But I am guilty as well, soooooo
Popular Post PJcm
Isn't this post about simply trying to flout the laws of Thailand? Thank you No this post is about avoiding traffic, I live outside of town and have many options from Sansai into town when I travel late mornings, My Thai driver's Licence is older than you, first obtained in 1969 45 years ago. Listen up you young whippersnapper if you don't know what your talking about shut your keyboard off, listen and learn something, ad hominem attacks are unnecessary.
Popular Post WinnieTheKhwai
Isn't this post about simply trying to flout the laws of Thailand? No, it's about learning where police checkpoints are. (You seem to think that 'police' has something to do with 'laws'? )
Celcius
I heard you don't need a International Driving License in Thailand if you are here for 3 months or less. Is this true? Is there any documentation to back this up?
LivinLOS
Easy, just follow the Laws and you don't have to worry where the Traffic Police locations are Not really.. Pulled over the other day.. 100% legit.. Asked for license, not being cambodia I willingly handed it over.. Then.. Wheres the bike tax.. Showed it correct and up to date.. Wheres the green book.. At home in the lockbox.. Ohh no must carry the original green book at all times on the bike.. Not a copy mind, must be the original !!! I cussed him out, snatched my license back and drove off.. While he was waving his paper with one of 4 tickboxes saying that you must have greenbook original.. Got a thump from the missus but no way on gods earth was I paying for that. Similar story stopped on my sportbike.. Once determined all was legal they started on the bike had a modified exhaust (it does, and it complied with a noise test at the testing station done properly) I told them it was standard and then just played dumb.. after 5 minuted of "standard.. Jing jing" ?? I was too much work and they let me pass.
