Hi guys,

Because of small problems (which quickly grow big), i didnt have chance to apply for an extension of my visa on time. Result: i overstay for almost 40 days now missing the one month and 2 weeks of extension the immigration office could give.

So now, can i clear this ovestay fine at the immigration office and apply for another extension even 2 weeks because i wish to go to France and apply for the visa from the frech embassy here.

Should i hire one lawyer or no need, means better go home.

Please give me idea. Thanks.

You need to exit the country and pay your fine immediately. According to another poster there is a sign at airport now that if your fine is 20,000 baht (40 days at the new 500 baht per day) you will be blacklisted for one year. Am not sure if this is the case, or going to be the case, or a mistake; but you are not likely to obtain an extension of stay if you are already on overstay.

I have not heard about the blacklist

Me neither; if you pay the fine you not be blacklisted.

but will ask Immigration tmr at the border.

Normally the people pay the fine and come straight back to Thailand.

Hi , at least the officers at the border have not been advised that current rule will change.

It's THB 20k and you can come back.
