Is there a Thai PrePaid debit card you can top up at 7-11 ?

Hi

I was wondering if there is a PrePaid debit card that you can get in Thailand and top up at 7-11 etc

I do have a K-bank debit card but thought it might be good to have another one that was not attached to the K-bank card and would have limited funds.

If not then someone please start one

Never seen one, might an option be to open a second account with Kasikorn, or even another bank, get a second card and transfer funds online as and when required?

If you opened a second account with Kasikorn online transfers, in the same area, would be free.

I doubt I will move , but its also a good thing to have and give to your kid for lunch money etc,

Wasn't the original concept of the BTS "RABBIT CARD" to be the same as the Hong Kong "OCTOPUS CARD"? The original promotions had it being used at many retailers and restaurants. Kind of fizzled as far as i know.

Does anybody here use it for anything other than BTS fare?

well you can almost buy everything at 7-11

and you are never more than a block away from one !

Rabbit card may be what you are after. Go to their site and you will see where it is accepted.

All the food and beverage places eg. Maccas, BK, Subway. Few retail outlets, but they do list Tesco.
