Thai news reports bomb attack at Victory Monument.

An unknown man was seen throwing two bombs in to crowds of people. The protesters tried to apprehend the assailant but were shot at it.

Source was Nation TV.

More reason for the guards to be permitted to be armed.

Do people seriously expect the protesters to whistle at an armed attacker? I hope they get him and expose him for what he is.... A THAKSIN paid terrorist.

We expect them to stop trying to subvert democracy.

Suthep and his backers are more than capable of doing this. Perhaps explains why then never caught.... They don't want to catch them.

Only time any intervention was when it really was the reds and the police and army moved straigh in at cheang wattana

Oh, and there was I thinking that that was how all this mayhem came about - when Yingluck et al tried to do exactly that! w00t.gif

Nothing like boiler room newbie to come on the forum and advocate killing people. Seems to be SOP for many of the Red Guards around here.

Really? If that turns out to be the case, then it is what it is. Otherwise, conjecture is pointless and a masturbatory exercise.

Thats my favorite kind of exercise!!!

WHAT !!! you say pointless???? if you don't have a point , don't follow through ..... no point

Wow..how did you know? Mr T called you on your mobile and said he did that?

There are real people out there protesting what they believe in and getting killed or seriously injured by unknown group and you are just pointing fingers behind your keyboard. If you really believe and hate Mr T so much, you should go out there and march alongside others instead of just contributing by pointing fingers here without any facts.

I believe they weren't yellow shirts... False accusations on both sides don't bring new light or truth to the ongoing facts.

And your last statement is a shame to yourself.

Just a humble opinion of mine.

Many should have agree that not all, but very high percentage of the RTP is supporting the Yingluck government or more directly is backing the TS regime. I'm not saying all these shootings/bombings definitely not done by the own anti-govt. But if people really doubt or believe these are actually created by Suthep and his co to gain sympathy/coup/protesters or whatever. Then why didn't the police strengthen up their force to catch the culprit?

Once they caught the culprit, everything is exposed. Pdrc is finish. That's it. Why didn't the police do it?? Unless this time they have bought by SUTHEP, not TS. Do you think the police has bought over by Suthep?

hmm..... I'm wondering...

The yellow shirt terrorists have shot people, brutally beat up several police personnel, cut power lines to government offices and hospitals, threatened exterminate the PM, threatened to kidnap the PM and her cabinet and about 100 other c violent and illegal acts. A few hand grenades is a good start to clean this garbage off the streets. Sent from my SM-N900 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

there, there sweetie, did those big bad men scare you, just take a bex and have a good lie down, I am sure this little "tizzie" you are having will pass all by itself. Making up all these big stories must be very draining on you........

Chinese made hand grenades can be purchased for 700 Baht if u got connections. The yellow shirt TERRORISTS are now going to start crying FOUL now?... After all of the illegal destructive things they have done since Nov. 555 Sent from my SM-N900 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Another newbie pops out of the woodwork to start his shift in Thaksin's boiler room.

Yawn... and anybody not posting regularly knows less than you. I know.

So, if it was worthy of a reply, what do you disagree with in the statement. Anybody can buy guns on the streets of bangkok. we have been watching warring student gangs for 20 years here. If they can't buy them, they make them.

The fact that a gun or bomb is used in thailand does not point to the military or police.

Do you realise that this is a more serious situation now. If suthep wins, there will be civil war. Most of the reds are totally silent and playing wait and see. there are some hotheads they can't reign in, but that is normal.

So if Suthep does not get the coup, he really could get death for this. His backers are banking on him getting into power so they can get back the money they have invested in the Coup Plot.

From the PDRC side.... they win or die/face exile. As no Suthep in power is financial ruin for many rich thais. You see the desperation in Sutheps marches. They are focused on money money money. Everyday, aids with big bags collecting donations.

As they are finished if they don't get Coup 19, they are finished for good this time as it truly will mean no more coups.

Could rich backers facing this not be capable of inciting unrest. My first post of the day was quoting Santhits public complaints the the peacful way is not working for them and they should "mix it up" This is an ex MP talking to a national newspaper. What the hell are they saying... or doing in private?

Threatening to cause violence thats what. And will the other side wear it if they come to power with army backing. Don't need a poll for that one

I think it is time that the military should takeover the security checkpoint to the protest site since the police is pretty ineffective in screening people coming and going. And the S.I.D. of the military should takeover the investigation for the bombing incident too.

Would be much easier for the protester to accept military personnel than police at the protesting site.

That is for sure .. smart remark.

But of course.........the only language these red republican communist vermin understand is intimidation, violence and terror. VERY democratic indeed.

Meanwhile redshirt terrorists threatened to burn Bangkok to the ground (but only succeeded in torching 59 buildings), fired rockets at the BTS, and much more, inspired by a leader who was behind thousands of extra-judicial killings not to mention the Krue-Se and Tak Bai massacres.

How many red-shirts died during that time when military was lead by Suthep and Abhishit. Around 100 red-shirts. Live bullets were used.

Red-shirts were however more violent but when your people start to die by fire do u think that torching buildings in that kind of situation is somehow justified? Althought I dont remember which one started first. Killing people by army or torching.

From what I recall it was the reds firing grenades indiscriminately at people, dragging soldiers from cars/trucks before viciously assaulting them, storming hospitals that came first.

I seem to remember the same thing.. not to mention leaders on stage talking about burning BKK... guess what happened after that. Its clear to see what faction is more violent.

A grenade causes great injury are they getting mixed up with a bunch of firecrackers as the pictures do not give the resemblance of a grenade attack unless these are. Home made small devices to a cause minimum injury it is funny how the shin family are always accused when it comes to some sort of explosion. I hope the injured are okay and that the injuries are very minor I can only see the escalating I think we can say goodbye to the high season and the influx of tourists this year which will have an adverse effect on the Thai economy.

As I watch the live protests on TNN I noticed these people are dragging their children into the midst of the protests.

Every parent who takes a child into this mayhem should be arrested and jailed on child endangerment. This is just another example of how thoughtless and uncaring these people are for those whom they inconvenience or endanger, including their own families.

This thoughtless act alone shows the true colors of these protesters.

The MOST logical explanation for these attacks is that they are at the hands of red shirt terrorists bent on diminishing the amount of people at the protest so that they can gloat that people are starting 'to lose interest'. It equally hands the red shirt supporting farangs on TVF the ability to spout the same BS.

I have a message for you... They will not kill the protest support this way, it will drive even more to the protests.... But I guess red shirts and their supporters are not clever enough to work this out, as has been proven in thousands of pro Yingluck posts on this very board.

Yes that's right arrest the parents who have taken their children on a protest rather than the scum intent on turning peaceful (if misguided) protests violent, arrest the parents rather than those attacking them and causing the mayhem you mention.

Put a WHITE shirt on every Thai person then just call it a bunch of cowards that are trying to hurt people with weapons. Makes me sick !

your quote "The PDRC are not allowing the RTP to do security close to protest sites."

With the lack of trust the anti's have for the police, they probably feel that would be like asking the fox to guard the chicken coop

certain;y not safe to have kiddies there...one crowd panic could be awful

There I agree with you. Suthep is a fascist. However those protesting genuinely feel that the PT govt is corrupt and their manner of govt brought untold harm to the country. They may be wrong in thinking that suthep has the answers but they want change and still have the democratic right to protest. They should not be attacked, injured and killed for exercising this right.

I was mocking your inflammatory "masturbatory exercise" comment by taking it a step further. I know that's hard to grasp, but most people probably think my comment was quite humorous, because your inflammatory language was just thread baiting.

Yes being ellected gives a government the power to rape and pillage the states coffers and hand out justice aimed at getting one man home.. OH i forgot they also make up fake G2G transactions to cover their tracks .. or even worse buy the rice cheap and resell it to the government again(also possible)

In a normal democraty the government would step down and let the corruption be investigated while those who are being investigated stay far away and usually step down during the investigation.

Guess what... this elected government does not do that.. its as democratic as Russia / North Korea / Iran

It is funny to see TV posters choosing sides, depending where their bar girls / chinese hisos are coming from.

When in reality this country is divided into violent muslims, violent red shirts and violent yellow shirts.

A few reasonable people here and there, but the majority is lacking common sense and lacking the will to settle disputes in a civilized way.

The PDRC are not allowing the RTP to do security close to protest sites.

And for good reason too. They are not trustworthy and they and the wonderful Capo tried to do their best to blame the protestors on the death of one policeman. That was after the lies about who was actually on the roof of the Labour Ministry roof.

Outside the protests how many have been arrested for the shooting at the Dem headquarters, Grenade at Abhisit residence, another explosive at Sukhumband's as well as shots, unexploded grenades and warnings at other protestors' homes?

None.

This statement is probably about as close to the truth as any I have seen on this issue thus far -
