tajaj
Greetings. New poster here. Please be gentle. Come Monday, we're travelling to Chiang Mai from the US for a three-week vacation and are concerned about the escalating political situation. We're thinking of postponing. Any insights would be appreciated. Many thanks.
bigbamboo
You wouldn't know there was a political situation here in Chiang Mai unless you turned on the TV.
tajaj
You wouldn't know there was a political situation here in Chiang Mai unless you turned on the TV. Does the news suggest that the situation may spread to the the north? And does it report problems in Chiang Mai, or is the situation contained to Bangkok? Tywais
There was only one small incident several days ago reported in the local news when a few red shirts confronted a handful of anti-government supporters. Very little became of it and has been quiet since. Not an issue at all to come to CM.

tajaj
Considering the uncertainties over containment, or even over basic considerations like the availability of air traffic on control—and while reflecting back on our desire for a relaxing vacation—we are going to reschedule our trip for a time after the whole fuss has blown over. Thanks again for your helpful opinions and news reports.
