Not sure that is a good deal, order a cheeseburger and fries for around 200 baht and I would have to sit there and drink 10 to 12 local beers to break even. Maybe a alcoholic can do it but I can't.

That's the idea of specials like this, they're only a good deal for the bar. They wouldn't do them otherwise.

Assuming local bottled beer includes Heineken, thats not a bad deal. Their main meals go up to 295 Baht - I guess a small Heiny would normally be around 100B and a glass of wine around the same so 3 or 4 bottles of Heiny to get me going,

3 or 4 glasses of wine with the meal and a couple of house brandy's at the end. I could just about manage that.- and the free 8th drink maybe a house scotch, would taste very sweet! I might even manage 2!

Good luck to all the pubs in town who must be finding it very difficult to do business with the buffaloes roaming up and down. I've been very short of bunce lately but as from 1st FEb, I hope to start exploring the pub scene. (of course I've known Chequers for years.)
