Even if the SOE does stop the farmers from coming to Bkk, surely their voice will then be heard at the polls? So, lets bring on the elections and see if public opinion has veered as claimed by many.

The administration has taken on a bully-in-chief attitude, and have got the big guns out. And on the other side ? Silence, occasionally broken by cheering, smiling crowds, blowing whistles. With such armament, the administration has no choice but to shut down the television networks. And now the farmers are coming to town. Formally bused in by Jatuporn by the thousands, they have suddenly become unwanted guests. After all, the administration they brought to power no longer needs them. In fact, they find them a nuisance. If you want free money - they say - get off your behind and become a cabinet minister. Riches beyond the dreams of avarice.

2 days left to pay the money you promised Yingluck...

What you gonna do when they come for you?

Ask your cowardly supporters to throw more bombs and run away or shoot innocent protestors.

Your time is slipping away...enjoy the final moments.

A post in violation of fair use policy has been removed. It is generally accepted, but not written into law, that quoting the first two or three sentences of an article and giving a link to the source is considered “fair use” and not a violation of copyright.

A rather profane post was removed as well.

The majority of those protesting have a real sense of grievance over PTs corrupt, bullying, inept manner of governing. They are not thugs. Leave that word to the poster who seems to have a copyright on its use.

"The whistle blowing protesters have been telling each other and anyone who would listen that theirs is a protest by “good people,” “not brutes.” “We are rich and educated,” they said, not tools of corrupt politicians (like the poor, uneducated, not-good, uncouth people on the other side)....“I am not hired because my salary is big,” “my family is rich,” etc.

They are protesting because of the way PT governed. They saw nothing but corruption, incompetence, intimidation of political opponents and the judiciary by their bully boy cadres, use of the law as a weapon and an inability to see that their duty was to rule for the good of Thailand not themselves.

I don't agree with the protests, I see suthep as a fascist, but I can see why people are out exercising their democratic right to protest.

I don't agree with the protests, I see suthep as a fascist, but I can see why people are out exercising their democratic right to protest.

Apart from their historical prejudices towards the ruling elites of Bangkok and their fear of a Thaksin government that would give the underclass power their access to information about Yingluck and the PT is limited to the local media which ranges from deeply in the Democrat and xxxx pockets all the way to the rag that's works as an intermediary with international news also in the Dem pocket. You know the one whose by line should more appropriately read 'the world's funhouse mirror on Thailand'. And, given their history and place in history, this would more appropriately describe the Democrats which oddly is not on their radar. "They saw nothing but corruption, incompetence, intimidation of political opponents and the judiciary by their bully boy cadres, use of the law as a weapon and an inability to see that their duty was to rule for the good of Thailand not themselves."

I agree people should exercise their democratic right to protest. Full stop. but as you say Suthep is a fascist and there's something quite otherwise going on here. His movement's enforcers are thugs. Will leave it there.

Rice farmers cause an emergency decree? That's a good one. By the way, they would've been paid if not for the CC & EC freezing spending. I'm not condoning the rice scam & hope to see people incarcerated over that one. As for the emergency decree, no way it was implemented because of assaults, idiots tossing grenades, influx of weapons in the capitol, threats of kidnapping & asset seizures, shootings, threats of closing the aeronautical control center & the SET, disrupting all forms of life in Bangkok, ect...............

It's good to see some people demanding reforms & a decline in corruption, it's democratic. But sure would like to see these very people research & think about the childish clowns representing them.

The non payment of monies due is nothing to do with the EC. The payments were due in October. They were not met because PT doesn't have the money. Not the EC's fault that this scheme has been a catastrophic failure. That is all on PT.

It's not the EC & CC freezing assets, it's the unelected Senate that blocked it before the elections were called. The EC is just the latest body to show its true colors.

If you look at the promotional photographs the PDRC are putting out, it's only a handful of people blocking a road in one of the side lanes! Traffic is flowing normally in both directions.

So this idea that a mass protest from farmers is prevented by the state of emergency is yet more PDRC numerical fiction.

In western countries when an election is called, the caretaker govt can no longer make law's or borrow money under the guys name

So why is Thailand in you mind exempt from the sales rules

Of Coarse I am so silly, they where elected by the Northern Thais so should be above the law

The law of being a caretaker says they can not borrow money or spend money from the govt purse

Nothing in the law says they can not put back out of their own or the Money Taksin stole from Thailand to pay the Rice Farmers

So are you saying the farmers are not afraid of the PDRC

They know what the PTP party are capable of. so its them that are scaring them from coming to BKK
