Women in Need of Blood After Accident!

Lara Rose, mother of two young children, was in an accident yesterday and is fighting for her life in Samitivej Hospital in need for blood.
She received a whopping 9 units of whole blood or packed red blood cells, and 8 units of plasma today, roughly half to 2/3 the entire volume of blood she started with. This exhausted the entire supply of B- and O- blood available for donation in Bangkok. Evidently these blood types are very rare in general, even more so in Thai people. With the donations tonight and promise of more coming, her Physicians were/are confident of doing whatever needs to be done. More will be needed today 24 Jan, maybe as much as 5-10 units, per her Surgeon. One person can donate 1 unit of blood. Please send out this call to everyone you know.

Folks can donate at the Thai Red Cross Blood Donation Center, off of BTS Sala Daeng (southern edge of Chulalongkorn University, western edge of Chulalongkorn hospital), from 8AM until 7PM.

Please complete a form saying” Donate to Lara Rose at Samitivej Hospital, Suhkumvit 49 only”.
Blood can only be taken at Thai Red Cross, Henri Dunant Rd, near Chulalongkorn Hospital, nearest MRT Silom, nearest BTS Siam.
Mon, Wed and Fri : 8.00 hrs – 16.30 hrs.
Tue and Thu : 7.30 hrs. – 19.30 hrs.
Weekends and Public Holidays : 11.00 hrs. – 15.30 hrs.
