Does anyone know if a small gate can be bought off the shelf here in chiang mai?

I only need a small hinged gate to use as the access point for my garden. So it only needs to be I guess 1.2metre tall by 1m wide.

Would global have these? Anywhere else? Or do I need to get one made by one of the front gate manufacturers?

Global doesn't sell them, in wood or metal.

Probably easier to get a personnel gate made in metal , many metalworking shops dotted about.

Wow. These gate places are in a world of their own when it comes to pricing. Because we aren't wanting a whole house worth of gates and security bars, they are all wanting circa 15,000 for the simplest 1.2 x 1 metre gate.

Sounds like that's the price of a pucker dipped, galvanised and chromed.

Shouldn't be too difficult to find one for a 1000bt that you will have to paint 6 times a year.

Was thinking of something in between. Found someone that is doing one for 4500. Which should last a while. With an annual splash of paint.

If they have a Thai Watsadu branch up there they may have it but if not should be able to direct you to where to go.

If you have a wood fence, it might be cheaper to buy a solid-core exterior door and cut it down to the height you want just above the middle hinge.

Did you try going to the stainless steel fence makers from what I have seen here around Trat they are ridiculously cheap .

I have an iron monger who made me a similar piece for ฿600. He came and installed it, too. It was steel and painted white, as I requested.
