pipkins
At least they are proving now that they are against democracy and are prepared to change their story every day. When Suthep said not block elections etc. and wrote to obama he must have got short shrift... one day later he u turns on stage and now the muppets are out in the street. Believe me there is real anger building up against them and one people smell blood and see sutheps numbers falling again in the week. (Yesterday was peak time and he got less than 1,000 ) there is a good chance they will be stopped by people power. Hope the police dont intervene too quickly when PDRC are being run out of town at pitchfork point..... happen soon and a few of the leaders have already been shot, injured or targeted. PDRC will not just walk away from this. The majority of the population in the country will see to that!!!
ratcatcher
No, again. I want them arrested. But if they resist they should be met with deadly force if necessary. How is that difficult for you to understand? Wow ... advocating killing ... you work for Thaksin? And exactly where did I advocate killing in my post above? "......they should be met with deadly force........" Deadly force, as defined by the United States Armed Forces, is the force which a person uses, causing—or that a person knows, or should know, would create a substantial risk of causing—death or serious bodily harm. In most jurisdictions, the use of deadly force is justified only under conditions of extreme necessity as a last resort, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed. Wiki I believe that advocating deadly force where deaths may occur is pretty much the same as advocating killing? Or do you want to play semantics today?

fab4
What Thai democracy?? Thailand is a democracy, it's an indisputable fact whether you fascists like it or not. Oh lookie, Diceq has learned a new word! He is so proud of himself, I hope he uses it another 100 times in this thread. Sure, he has no idea what it means and all, but isn't it nice how he fits it into nearly every sentence of his posts! Sadly, he also must have learnt how to turn his computer on as well. Thug, Fascist, Democracy....... What next Oh, I don't know, how about references to Thaksins brown nosing acolytes, wives/partners being Isaan bar girls, hitler, mussolini, red buffalos, puppet, unintelligent, communists, "peace loving redshirt supporters, red shirts selling their votes, clones, communist red shirt villages, thugs, fascists Let me count the ways....................
dukebowling
What About Thaksin Shouldn't he be brought in??? He Has been convicted and Has outstanding warrant on him and his known wear a bouts are know…. Suthep Has not ordered the killing of people as mr t has.. Shouldn't this government be going after the real criminals… And not someone just because he is campaigning agents them? and that is what he is doing... The difference is Thaksin has not done anything proven illegal (politically judicial motivated conviction) that he has not already been acquitted from. icare999
Old Sethup has been living it up in 5 star hotels, best food(take a look at his pot belly) I didn't see him sleeping in a tent. But It looks like the majority here on the forum want him arrested as the law requires it. I think the whole protest would crumble away. Mind you having said that, its for sure Thailand might never quite be the same again. Come on Madame Prime minister, lets see the making of you. Hawk
Suthep will be arrested soon, "Soon" is such a vague expression of time in Thailand it could mean sometime to never. As the movie advertisements say, "coming soon". (lay-ol, lay-ol nee)
dukebowling
Threats, threats and more threats. What a wonderful example of thainess Chalerm represents. No wonder this country is in so much trouble. Thainess is not a valid argument. It is either justifiable or not.
chooka
Makes me laugh when Red Shirts make out that Thaksin should avoid sentencing, but his opponents must face jail. Red shirt propaganda this "kangaroo stuff" and "Politically motivated" rubbish. His sister (supposedly) is running things now, so why doesn't he come back and face the courts? Why does he need an amnesty bill to clear his name? If he is innocent, why does he need that bill? Why not face the courts like Suthep and Abhisit prefer to? No, they think he is above the law. They both should be in a cell.

ginjag
Suthep will have a different opinion on amnesty bills when he's looking at the world from behind bars. In that one cell expect about 300 others to soon join Suthep, so maybe we can do it in one full swoop, Chalerm should be in the running for the chain gang. dukebowling
Ah, the legendary hypocrisy and selective memory again. Thaksin DOES have a warrant out for his arrest. He skipped out of town to avoid going to jail. Remember? Politically motivated arrest warrent for Thaksin only. He really should come back, land at Chiang mai , they will never touch him. He has done a lot less than Sethup Ah, the old "politically motivated" chestnut. Is that the one where he was charged and found guilty whilst HIS party (PPP) was in power at the time? Regardless of the motivation, that's not any kind of excuse or reason. He was charged, tried and found guilty. Simple. Like anyone else, he could have appealed the decision but chose not to. Next time I'm arrested, I'll have to remember to claim it's "politically motivated" then I can also skip the country and not go to jail. Also, the next time you are voted in by the people after finishing the first completed term as a PM, and then ousted by the military justified by unsubstantiated facts about airport corruption, I will support your claim for "politically motivated" reasons to flee the country. You will be justified in that action. Edited January 26, 2014 by dukebowling

The difference is Thaksin has not done anything proven illegal (politically judicial motivated conviction) that he has not already been acquitted from. That's because he skipped the country. Actually Thaksin did not "skip" the country, he was in New York when the army, with the nod from the very elite, took over Thailand. So it was justifiably too dangerous for him to return. Remember the corruption charge was dreamed up about a year after the coup because Thaksin would not simply shut up and go away. He actually attended the trial, but when it was completely obvious that it was a biased "politically motivated" one, he left before the final ruling. slapout
Probably the biggest problem Thailand has with enforcement of the law/decree/legal threats, is those tasked with enforcement have more dirt on them, than those they are susposed to arrest, and they know that their transgressions are known by many. The power that some of these people display/flaunt is not from their wealth, but what they have and can prove on their present opposition, who they were in partnership with a few elections ago.
