January 28, 201412 yr Hi All, I want to get my 5 year old daughter a UK passport but i am unable to contact my daughters mum, we split up 2 years ago. i have been told that i need to go to the embassy with my ex and my daughter to get the passport, is it not possible for only myself to apply? I find it strange that they want her mum to be there who is Thai when its me that is British, is there a way around this? i have her Thai birth certificate and everything else just unable to contact my ex. Thanks in advance

January 28, 201412 yr It is to prevent child abduction. Your best choice is to apply to the court for Sole custody due to mothers abandonment. Others with recent expereince will be along soon I am sure to offer you information on how to proceed.
