The Police as inept as they are, have been hampered in their investigations on previous incidents, they've been denied access to Crime scenes till after the PDRC protestors have "contaminated" crime scenes, and more than likely planted evidence into the bargain, they've done everything they can to discredit the Police, not without reason either, they even refused to let the police into a crime scene and turned to the Army. Maybe, just maybe the Police have adopted a <deleted>*k You attitude towards Suthep and his protestors ?

Have you considered that the reason police have not been given immediate access to a crime scene is because they (the police) might contaminate it and/or plant evidence and/or miss clues, which they're apt to do. Surely, among the PDRC protesters, there could be some adept investigators, or at least some who can take decent crime scene photos. The police have proven to be inept and overly influenced by special interests who control them. A few years ago, when an entire block of downtown Bangkok was trashed, the police couldn't even get to a point of pressing charges. They had a suspect, but were too hamstrung by power politics, and were cowed in to not pressing charges.

There is a trend, in Thailand, when a major crime takes place, that VIP's will immediately give their opinions as to who did it and why. Besides stifling investigative processes, it gives a clear message to police - the result they're supposed to come up with. Thaksin did it often. One example: when there was an explosion at a plane he was supposed to board, right away he told everyone who did it and why, and the investigation went nowhere. Same when a car was found in his Bkk neighborhood with a bomb in it. Chalerm is cut from the same cookie cutter, and also gives his directive on every important case he hears about, as long as it squares with Thaksin's spin.
