Stopping the Thaivisa Newsletter Subscription Offer (Black Screen with Blue Advert)

A lot of websites are using these annoying adverts that roll over the website and completely stop access to the pages until you respond to it. I get one every time I go into this forum, and it's getting really tedious. Maybe there's a problem with how cookies are handled in the version of Chrome I'm using, and this annoying advert doesn't come up every time in other browsers or for other users, but I am sick of seeing it. It seems to me that there is usually (or should be a way of telling this advert that I am not interested in the TV Newsletter and never will be, so it knows to stop asking me every time I come to this website. I suspect it's something to do with my browser. Any help available to get rid of this black screen advert?
