Just goes to show you how stupid they are. A leader who can't even vote properly and when she is caught at it blames it on some one else. By now one would think that the people know it is just PTP flapping their lips in the wind.

If they do Thailand will have 16 martyrs to rally more support behind. I believe that if the 16 would turn them selves in it would knock the legs out from under the PTP.

I thought the ear medicine man was going to have Suthep arrested last week.

Whereas take the whole turnout in all unaffected balloted areas and you will see that the turnout was 45% as opposed to the normal 75% last time... Including the north and northeast.

Then once all the data is in look at the amount of that 45% who actually voted for PTP and you will see that PTP will have less than 20% of the entire eligible voting public.

The spirit and courage of those who voted to defense democracy under such circumstances is a slap on the face on anti-democracy movement.

It is different. Earlier they have sought arrest warrants, but court not approved them. This is a game changer since it is Criminal Court that says OK to the warrant.

Also it is not an arrest they can jump on bail same day. This give the authority the chance to keep them jailed for 7 days and not even tell CC for 48 hours. That is significant.

I doubt the leaders will let themselfs be arrested. They will taunt the authority from behind a line of unarmed peaceful guards. Dont be surprised if the same unarmed peacefull guards suddenly shoot from their fake louis vuitton manpurses if police try to get the 19 leaders.

If they like walking so much let them do it round the prison yard

Here is another scenario............The PT did not call for a snap election, farmers were never paid in October due to lack of funding (presumably).

Farmers continued to not be paid up until the date of this election. So you think that the voter turnout and the 'no's' would have been higher than the 2011 election? I doubt it

Once arrested, the 19 core leaders are to be put in custody at the Border Patrol Police Region 1 Headquarters in Pathum Thani province for no longer than 7 days. The authorities are required to report the arrests to the court within 48 hours. If the conditions are not met, the court could decide to withdraw the arrest warrants

They can only hold them for 7 days, then what?

First step to clearing the streets of these pesky stages and returning the city to normality, 3 months is long enough there's been violence from them that cannot be denied and they have blockaded and forcefully stopped people from voting.

It's time for them to go home and the leaders to face the music as they claimed they were willing to do in the first place. Whatever else goes on politically the PDRC isnt part of it and should be treated like the unwelcome parasite its become to the rest of the population here...before anyone else of whatever beliefs or views gets hurt.

Now we just have to see if they are still too paralyzed to act on it.

This means an outside force is being used to do this, the same one that attacked PAD

years ago outside of parliament, and one that could potentially be anyone

BANGKOK: -- In a setback to the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee, the Criminal Court yesterday approved arrest warrants for its chief Suthep Thaugsuban and 18 other leaders, under the state of emergency.

The PDRC was dealt another blow when a leader, prominent Indian businessman Sathit Segal, faced the threat of deportation after being singled out by the government's Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order on Tuesday.

In approving the warrants, the court said it had relied on evidence submitted by the police and believed that Suthep and 18 other PDRC leaders had collaborated to create an emergency situation, citing their violation of Articles 11 and 12 of the emergency decree.

The court said 18 witnesses and evidence, especially video CDs, provided enough grounds to suspect that the 19 PDRC leaders had collaborated, instigated or supported actions that caused emergency situations.

As a result, the police are authorised to apprehend and detain the 19 suspects until the state of emergency is lifted. The court ruling also stipulated that the 19 suspects, if or when detained, will be confined at Border Patrol Police Region 1 in Pathum Thani's Klong Luang district.

The court said if police failed to make arrests within a year after the warrants were approved, the court may summon the officers for questioning, and may revoke the warrants.

Meanwhile, rally leaders remain doubtful about the legality of the planned deportation of Sathit who has spoken on stage at the anti-government protests.

Sathit , a former president of the Thai-Indian Business Association, said he had stopped speaking from the rally stage after the state of emergency was declared last month. "I'm perplexed to learn from the media that the government wants me deported. I don't understand this because what I said on stage was about loyalty to the monarch and Thailand. I have never criticised the government or the prime minister," Sathit said.

"I have been doing good throughout my life. I worked for charity activities that paid respect to the monarchy. I have never harmed or hurt others," he said.

"I have been living in Thailand for more than 50 years and regard it as my home."

He said he was born in India and moved to Thailand when he was five years old. He did not change his nationality though his four siblingsborn in Thailand who are Thai citizens . He had served in many governments including that of former PM Thaksin Shinawatra and was appointed as adviser to ministries six times, Sathit said.

"It's true that I'm an alien but I have represented Thailand in many talks with India. I'm an alien who has worked and helped Thailand for long time. I wonder where all the good things I have done for the country have gone," he said, adding that he is most worried about his 90-year-old mother.

Earlier, the Department of Special Investigation issued a summons for him to report. "I received it on January 23 and I was supposed to report the next day. It was difficult for me to do so as I didn't have enough time to prepare," he said, explaining the delay.

As of yesterday, he had not yet received any document about the reported deportation. However, he intends to seek legal help as he considers the reported order unfair and he believes in the justice system.

Meanwhile rally leader Thaworn Senneam warned the caretaker government that the alleged deportation order was an act of intimidation and a threat because it was not in line with deportation laws. He said he would serve as Sathit's legal adviser.

Suthep announced on the Pathumwan rally stage last night that he will submit legal recommendations to caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra today telling her that her position was no longer legitimate after the election.

He said his recommendations are based on a letter sent to him by former Supreme Court senior judge Yindee Watcharaphong Torsuwan.

Maybe they could be peacefully moved to the kids' playground at IKEA. They have a huge pool of colorful balls and lots of sliders where the PDRC leaders will surely feel very happy. That would make sense, since pretty much anything outside Bangkok is considered "foreign" to the uneducated and blind PDRC protesters who think that Thailand ends at the outskirts of Bangkok.

The other scenario is also that if the dem did not boycott and they were no criminal activities impeding, blocking registration, blocking of voters and EC scare mongering

1. The farmers would not want to throw away something that has benefited them.

2. The 16+% 'NO' votes would likely not be all translated into seat votes for the dem. This is an election based on constituency seats and party list.

3. The turnout may not be higher and the dem's 'NO' votes will not be higher either but the dem will suffer even worse than 2011 humiliation.
