May 25, 200620 yr I'm considering giving Firefox a go. Question: Is it possible to have both Firefox and IE 6 installed? Will there not be any conflict? And is it possible to use them both simultaneously because i think some websites wont work with Firefox. Cheers!
May 25, 200620 yr Yes both firefox/IE co-exist. Wish I could get rid of IE though. As brit says they are independant clients and will have no issues with conflicts. As for IE there are some banking sites that require it or a browser that uses the IE engine such as Avant browser.
May 25, 200620 yr You can also use IE within firefox with IEtab extension. It uses the IE engine, works perfectly even with windows update
May 25, 200620 yr You want to keep IE around... Their are a few websites that only work on IE - that is bad web design... If you use Foxfire check out their extentions area... Tools/extentions/get extentions... I like the world clock one that allows you to put different timezones at the bottom: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1117/ here are some other that are nice: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1269/ https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2410/ and if your into customizing the look check out the skins too... May 25, 200620 yr Careful. If you back out of IE6 to IE5 for any reason, you may find Firefox has been affected. A nasty habit of IE.
May 25, 200620 yr I use firefox and mozilla and opera and IE, all open at the same time as I use the different browers for different sites. No conflict. Many (21) tabs open on firefox. There is also thunderbird mail client There are many add-ons and extensions available and it is fun just to browse through them and see what you can do with firefox Change over and get rid of IE numbers now changing over seems to be large.
