What is the plane...

Featured Replies

...that Crockett and Tubbs are flying back from Haiti after their meeting with Yero? (in 'Miami Vice', the movie)

I've searched all over the interweb for two days and still can't find the answer

It's a twin-engined--forward and aft of the cockpit/passenger section--and has struts leading aft of the wings to an awesome tail configuration (T-Bone? I don't know facepalm.gif)

It's sexy and totally rocks and I want one just like it...

Took me 2 minutes to find out. It was an Adam A500 built by Adam Aircraft Industries . Only 7 planes were built, then the company filed for bankruptcy. Here is the source, look under Adam A500.

Week before last I visited the air museum in Caloundra, Queensland, Australia, there is a plane in there with an engine in the front and one at the back. I did not take any notice of the make or take a photo of it. One I did take a photo of has two engines facing rearward on the wings, some interesting planes there.

Several different aircraft that support the push-pull prop configuration - Google Images

Have to admit I always thought they were cool looking aircraft.

Dario--thank you sir. I had a feeling the craft was a very limited production or maybe even a 'one-off' plane just for the movie. Only 7 built, the manufacturer's gone bust and the film is ~8 years old--if any of those birds are still around they must be collectors items (but spare parts xhuh.png.pagespeed.ic.6VcCaNwNXg.png ???)

Thanks again for the info--my search will continue...

I think there are more exciting, successful and affordable small light aircraft around nowadays, I think about Pipistrel in Slovenia with their Sinus and Virus which have been flown around the world, available new, for about 120'000 Euro a piece with basic avionics, 60-80'000 Euro second hand. An absolute winner in its class at a very affordable price.

Lot's of bog standard commercial stuff from me ... but some of the other guys are well connected within the industry and have interesting planes.

There is even someone who made an Adam A500 for FSX, short for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, see a youtube video here.
