Popular Post Lite Beer
Clint Eastwood saves man from chokingWASHINGTON - Hollywood's iconic good guy, Clint Eastwood, is also a real life hero after swooping to rescue a choking guest at a California reception."Clint saved my life," Steve John told The Carmel Pine Cone, the local newspaper where the actor once served as mayor in the 1980s.During a reception late Wednesday for a golf tournament in Carmel-by-the-Sea, John was eating and chatting, only to get a piece of cheese stuck in his windpipe."Suddenly, I couldn’t breathe. It was as bad as it could have been," recalled the director of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament in California."Clint came up behind me, and he knew exactly what to do."The award-winning actor and director told the local paper that he saw in John "that look of panic people have when they see their life passing before their eyes."Eastwood, 83, moved behind John to perform the Heimlich maneuver. "I gave him three good jolts, and that got it out," the mega star recalled."And then I made him drink a big glass of water with a bunch of lemon squeezed in it."Eastwood, who most famously inhabited the role of "Dirty Harry," confessed he’d never performed the Heimlich maneuver in real life before: "except to practice." -- The Nation 2014-02-09

Rorri
Call me sceptical, but far too often we see Hollywood "heroes" become real life "heroes." Nice for publicity., but hey, not ONE photo to prove it. At a very scrawny 83 I doubt he'd get enough leverage on 50 yo Steve, at 202 lbs. Clint's PR people are still trying to recover from the (senile) spectacle of him talking to an empty chair at the convention.

Genericnic
I'd bet most of the Hollywood stars of today could even spell Heimlich much less know how to do it. David Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

One is compressing soft tissue. I doubt anyone is going to make this up. No need to. Clint is an icon and revered. He also keeps a very low profile. He doesn't need or seek the publicity. HerbalEd
Good job Clint, too bad he is a Democrat You're kidding, right? Or is it clueless? They don't get more Republican than Eastwood. You must have missed his infamous speech at the Republican convention. brianP
I still remember how he bought and donated the forest- coastal land in California that was going to be decimated by developers. He saved the pristine land and set the way for reasonable laws for new projects and made the area stay special and not just another paved dream turned nightmare! Bless him.
