German dies in Phuket of suspected Viagra overdose

An overdose from 1 Kamagra? A reaction maybe but not an overdose from the normal dosage of one tablet.

"Kamagra, a Thai version of Viagra" Actually Kamagra is manufactured in India and is not the Thai version of Viagra.

Great reporting and police work, again.

They don't need to investigate. All they have to do is give a few of the facts to Thai Visa and the investigation's done for them. Who says they're dumber than the average bear.

Poor Guy RIP. Well at least he died happy. This sort of event has happened here before. There was a New Zealand fellow some months back in Patong, a young guy that overdosed on Viagra. But what about the poor girls in this sad situation? What a shock for them especially if he was on the nest when it happened and what on earth do they say? Hey man, have you just come and gone?

Viagra was introduced in 1998 and changed the game for many men as they entered mid life and beyond. But it's a serious drug and not to be taken without first verifying you're in good enough health to take it.

Serious cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and vascular events, including myocardial infarction, sudden cardiac death, ventricular arrhythmia, cerebrovascular hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack, hypertension, subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhages, and pulmonary hemorrhage have been reported post-marketing in temporal association with the use of VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) . Most, but not all, of these patients had preexisting cardiovascular risk factors. Many of these events were reported to occur during or shortly after sexual activity, and a few were reported to occur shortly after the use of VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) without sexual activity. Others were reported to have occurred hours to days after the use of VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) and sexual activity. It is not possible to determine whether these events are related directly to VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) , to sexual activity, to the patient's underlying cardiovascular disease, to a combination of these factors, or to other factors.

It really just beggars belief .the amount of pathetic members on TV who make jokes and a mockery of deceased people on forums ...totally unneccessary and very disrespectful to the victims and their families and friends, who may read this forum.

Truely disgraceful behaviour....sad.png

70 years old is just an old guy dying from being old.

In my book 70 isn't old. He might have had underlying problems that he knew nothing about. I lost two friends in their twenties with underlying problems.

Your book must be 80 years old

Yah and remember smarty pants he took KAMAGRA not Viagra. You should post 17 more paragraphs because who the hell knows what exactly is going into what he really took. A fake drug from India sold in Thailand. Really think about it before you post facts about some drug the old geezer did NOT take.

If you have any heart or blood pressure issues at all, you must see a Doc before using Viagra or Kamagra. Caverject is safer than either of these, because it acts locally (you know where boys!), whereas Viagra, especially a full fat 100mg tab affects the whole circulatory system. Caverject cannot be obtained in Thailand to my knowledge, but is available on prescription in Europe and I imagine in USA. It is worth the pain.

Kamagra is not a fake drug.

I hereby authorise TV members to play detective, poke fun and generally have a good time if and when I croak here. I won't care and my relatives either don't read much English and/or are thick-skinned biggrin.png

Seems to me to be a bit of a "which came first, the chicken or the egg" type question.

Without knowing the general physical condition of the deceased, and his lifestyle, it's highly probable he died of a heart attack. Whether that heart attack was bought on by taking Kamagra and then sexual physical exertion is the question.

A toxicology report would be needed to see just how many tablets the deceased took before concluding a Kamagra overdose was the direct cause of death.

Correct

At 70, he had a fairly good innings, fair play to him if he died doing somehting he could still enjoy. Sad all the same, given the location etc....

The normal Viagra dose is 25 mg to 100 mg - not sure what was contained in the tablets taken by the deceased. In itself Viagra should not be a problem to those in reasonably good health. But that's why you should only take it after seeing your doctor and should only be purchased on prescription. There are certainly dangers - please read this from a US based medical site:

Serious cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and vascular events, including myocardial infarction, sudden cardiac death, ventricular arrhythmia, cerebrovascular hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack, hypertension, subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhages, and pulmonary hemorrhage have been reported with the use of VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) . Viagra also increases the blood pressure lowering effects of nitrates (for example, isosorbide dinitrate) that are used primarily for treating angina. Patients taking nitrates should not receive Viagra.

RIP for the poor guy.

Sorry but Viagra and its assosiated products reduce blood pressure, thats what its origional intention as a medicine was. It opens up your blood vessels around your wedding tackle and then the blood goes there, thus reducing blood pressure in the body. Its a common misconception about these type of drugs

I think you have misread the sentence.".Viagra also increases the blood pressure lowering effects of nitrates"

IMO what is meant and is correct, is that if you are already using nitrates to lower your blood pressure,[which they do] you should not use viagra as , as you rightly say works by lowering BP, so the combination of the two will lead to excessively low BP..this is the danger.

The article in the OP is full of mistakes.

As has been pointed out already, Kamagra is not Thai Viagra.

Secondly, it is not really possible to die as a direct consequence of sildenafil overdose.

Any dosage could induce potentially lethal patient-specific side effects due to preexisting conditions in the patient, but by itself, sildenafil is not a very dangerous drug, much less dangerous than paracetamol for example.

He was by himself, strange, very strange!

Very Strange? Not sure. David Carradine was alone when he went.

As we're talking star deaths, so was Michael Hutchence. INXS. A lot of people die alone.

Maybe all his blood had gone to his head!

The partner who 'ran away', could have an interesting story to tell.

The he wasn't alone all the time. Maybe.

Doesn't every one want to die having an orgasm? In the act.

Is that better than dragging it out in a nursing home?
