zeichen
There are a lot of places that use the old tree stump for mortars, care to say what city at least. But to be honest there are 1000's of Som Tam shops and just sampling a few you will find what you are looking for. It is pretty hard to mess up a simple recipe. WinnieTheKhwai
Sounds like Som Tam Yok Khrok; it's a franchise or chain I believe. Also think the Huay Kaew branch closed or moved. There are one or two around in Chiang Mai though, Google has it off Wualai Road. If you feel like searching through Thai foodie sites, the search term is ส้มตํายกครก เชียงใหม่
haybilly
As has been said--hollowed out tree trunk--is very common. Anyway--since you couldn't be bothered to answer replies to your last Topic--I can't be bothered to give more info.
