I used to withdraw 60,000 a week with my HSBC cards from an AEON ATM to put on my Thai account for my retired visa for next year, till last week it was free.

THIS AFTERNOON I had a message like every other Thai ATM it will cost you 150 Bahts are you OK? Gulp! blink.png

For the 800,000 necessary its 40 times 20,000 that is to say 40X150=6,000 Bahts, for one year OK I will not die, its far less than the people with Visa runs, however it is not a good news.sad.png

Does anyone knows something about it?

Depending on your home country, a one-time wire transfer of the full amount can be as low as B400 (within the US via Bangkok Bank) or maybe as much as B1,500.

And you'll probably do much better on the exchange rate, you can even bargain with the relevant department before it arrives.
