My sister is in India and asked me to send some money via western union.But at the counter they told me that for reasons of terrorism money to and from india cannot be sent.I did not know that: which other countries have this limitation?Thanks for your answers

Maybe the need to have bank accounts on both ends?

Also takes several days to clear, probably more to India.

Western Union is a US company that can dream up all sorts of restrictions to suit America's Foreign Policy!

There are alternatives ie: moneygram..

But Maybe just trying another agent on a different day may get you the result you want!

Check the Thailand website for Western Union. It is adverting special promotional rate for 8 countries including India. I do not believe that it is true that WU transfers from Thailand to India are not possible.

Another problem,this time not occurred to me:my friend needs to recive 9512 bath from Doha,qatar.But who is sending told the mctc number is composed of 13 letters,when normally,as i know to,is just of 10 letters.That man told that from Doha is like that.Anyone know about that?

As long as their receiving location and name, in their passport or other acceptable ID matches the recipient info AND they can quote the sender's name and sending location, they should be able to claim the funds without the tracking number.

If not, simple enough for the sender to get the proper tracking number from the WU paperwork and send it on.
