tingtongteesood
Satis Sehgal. Legally in the country. Contributed to Thai society and paid tax. Chairman of a respectable organisation. Concerned that democracy would not be adhered too post ballot box. Nice one and essentially the correct decision. Jeff Savage. Western UDD terrorist supporter. Said on video he would burn down Central World (Central world burnt down 1 hour later) Jailed and deported. Nice one and essentially the correct decision. Connor Purcell. Western UDD terrorist supporter. No Passport. No money. Begging from his friends to survive. Lied about his job, lied about his past and lied about his predicament. Jailed and deported and essentially the correct desicion. 3 outa 3 aint bad. The UDD / PTP supporters have the audacity to demonize Satis. I will give the terrorist supporters one thing. A consistency in demagoguery. Fanatics seem to gravitate towards the UDD. Is that any surprise though when Jatuporn stated "We will paint the sky red. Blood red" or Nattawut telling his supporters to "Burn them. Burn them all folks" Congrats Satis. It is your tax money that has gone into the pockets of the terrorists and to the regime. Time to reclaim democracy. Well done. ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON SIR ! Glad the right decision was made. The red terrorist nutjobs screaming 'kill the aristocrats' and 'turn Bangkok into a sea of fire' are the ones who should face punishment and Taksin made them MPs !!!! This is what is wrong with this country. Satish is a good man who did good things who is worried about what the terrorists and criminals have done to the country, and rightly so, we should all be worried while the fugitive in Dubai want to be dictator has any power over the governance of the kingdom. tingtongteesood
Not surprising but the can of worms is growing. It is amazing that the so called Immigration Commission has more power than the CMPO. But at least the commission members got a fair share of Mr. Sehgal's "donation. What happened to make you such a cynical soul ?
Baerboxer
Never thought this was ever going to happen.. Right or wrong, its opened a huge can of worms for the future. There will be plenty of nutjob falangs willing to.protest. Should be fun The point about the decision is that it was his speeches they were using as evidence but the speeches were focusing on his support for, and loyalty to, His Majesty The King - for the Immigration Committee to use such a speech as grounds for deportation would have been an incredible insult to our monarchy - and totally wrong! Lets not get all teary eyed and over dramatically nationalistic about it. For now hes off the hook and hes going to be keeping his mouth shut a lot more in the future i expect. Maybe lesson learnt, thats a good thing and win win for Thailand overall. Let's not loose site of the fact this is another defeat for a crumbling regime. This week Chalerm is told off publicly for insulting a coalition partner. Tarit promises to name those responsible for the "crime" of financing the anti-regime protesters. Then, he backtracks and says he can't. Meanwhile Chalerm appears to have leaked the list, which includes a deceased person who died a long time before the protests began.(An honest mistake - no one in PTP ever checks anything). Now this. A very sensible decision by the immigration committee. This gentleman is no threat to security and the whole fiasco was trumped up out of political spite. Perhaps Chalerm will leak the names of the other foreign leaders next. Anything to divert a bit of attention from the real issues.
Artisi
I totally agree that this indian guy should not be deported. That would be far too lenient. Same as all the other leaders of these criminal protests aimed at overthrowing democracy, he should be thrown in jail. Let the police compile more evidence of his crimes and arrest him ! Your a muppet! Wrong word, the correct word starts with w and ends in r

Baerboxer
The right decision was made. Good to see the Suthep fan club making their usual childish comments about Chalerm. . . . I havent laughed so much since the last time they made the same belly splitting remarks. I cant wait for the next time they post them Pathetic - how those who so adore Thaksin insist anyone who dare to comment against him or his minions is a Suthep fan. Maybe they should ponder why so many comment against rather than dismiss it so ridiculously.
SICHONSTEVE
sweet heart, the immigration committee ! yet, would Satis still on the deportation threat from CMPO ? He won't be deported!!! Why should he? he has done nothing other than being of a great service to Thai-Indian relations. Tell me, who has done more good for Thailand out of Chalerm, Tarit and Sehgal? Just because he is against corruption and see's this government for what it is (and loves the Thai monarchy) how can that make him a security threat? Well done the immigration committee - you have done the sensible thing and taken these imbeciles down a notch or two in the self-importance stakes. Soutpeel
Well done the immigration committee - you have done the sensible thing and taken these imbeciles down a notch or two in the self-importance stakes. One susepcts the immigration committee have done the legally correct thing....ie I understsand the gentleman is a PR, therefore under a legally correct process, they would have to withdraw his PR status before deporting him. It seems they looked at this and Chalerm & Co have not supplied compelling enough evidence to get his PR withdrawn, therefore no grounds for deportation it seems to me that they tried to bypass this requirement and just wanted him deported therefore not following the rule of law anyway, yes the PTP "democratic" process at work again...

Dogmatix
The immigration committee has rejected the proposal by the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) that Indian businessman Satis Sehgal be deported Considering the makeup of the committee (including Chalerm's Labor Ministry's own Director-General), it's a bit of surprise they decided to kick Chalerm in the groin. Section 6 : The immigration Commission will consist of the Under Secretary of the Minister of Interior as Chairman and the following members : - Under Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Director General, Police Department - Director General, Labor Department - Director General, Public Prosecution Department - Secretary General, Board of Investment Committee - Secretary General, National Security Council - Director, Tourist Organization of Thailand - Commander of Immigration Division as member and secretary This is amazing, since these are all directly under Chalerm or the Thaksinite security apparatus with the exception of the BOI and the TAT. Even the interior minister who is also Pheua Thai party leader felt the need to comment personally on the case, saying that there was a lack of evidence. They must be all quite p*ssed off with Chalerm over this frivolous and vindictive case that just makes CMPO and the government look like a right load of charlies. It is a race against time whether Chalerm gets dinged as chief of CMPO first or the civil court orders the Emergency Decree to be revoked.
Popular Post bigbamboo
Congratulations for the time being Mr Satish while Chalerm & Tarit plan their next move.. If their next move is anything like any of their previous moves, I think Mr Satish will not have any problem sleeping at night... Chalerm & Tarit - the Thai version of the Chuckle Brothers I would have said they were more like a Thai version of the puppets Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men who made a lot of noise but actually said nothing coherent. And then there was also Little Weed, a cute, dippy little thing on strings who was also worked by an unseen hand. She hid herself away most of the time, hardly ever spoke and even when she did nobody could understand what she was saying. Can't think who she reminds me of though.....

kikoman
The ruling goes to show how corrupt the country is, all of the political appointments in the seats or decision making agencies are occuppied by the 2006 Military junta appointees, who also placed the non-elected Senators in the 2007 constitution, all of these appointments must be included in any comprehensive reforn to rid Thailand of corruption! Also, it would appear that immigration does not agree with your view. Not that I would consider a foreigner ranting on stage to be interfering. In most democratic countries the government would simply ignore such a person as harmless and irrelevant. At the end of it, it now apparently, after all the sabre rattling comes down to whether or not what you say is positive for Thailand, love the King and don't break the law. Typical mess of a system that reduces the Thai legal system to a laughing stock. So, yes, all that BS about Farangs stay away is nonsense, and your views can be expressed, of course until, they decide they don't like you any more, and they will arbitrarily throw you out. At the end of it, standing next to Suthep moaning about corruption, is well, immensly hypocritical.
