Thai Building Regulations

Recommended Posts

The Management Company of the condo I live in has said that a recent amendment to the Thai Building Regulations now has a mandatory condition that all condominiums have to have a ramp to assist the physically challenged individual. I have asked them to produce it but they say that they are unable to locate it.

Naturally I suspect that this information is not factually correct (I'm being polite!)

Is there anyone with knowledge of this requirement, if so I would be most grateful to hear from them.

If it is not in the building regs it should be as in most civilised countries, that do not treat their disabled as 2nd class citizens and assist them to live a normal life as possible

Any new rule with respect to a mandatory modification of the common property is likely to be in conflict with the Condo Act.

A 50% vote of acceptance is required.

If there is a new legal requirement - then I suspect that it will only apply to new buildings
