This really made my day capturing this when waiting for my wife to finish her hot yoga session at Rangsit Sky Soccer.

There seems to be a bridge a few metres downstream. Thais will do anything to avoid walkingsmile.png

There is a bridge and I suspect the journey if anything would have been shorter in time and less potentially hazardous - but polystyrene slab boat it was. They have probably grown up all their live living by and in the klong so it is second nature to them to get on (an into) the water. Going past last night I saw a few folk bating, washing dishes and clothes in the water - which smells a bit grim to my western nose.

as interesting as it was to watch i was sort of waiting for the larger one to take the plunge

What you mean is you were hoping - now that would be junk TV gold. Watching it live I was amazed the whole coboodle didn't go klongwards. They should introduce polystyrene slab khlong racing I'd be up for that along with snake/dog/monkey/elephant/spider/scorpion/dog/tiger/ping pong (have a missed any shows) show.

Probably charge foreigners double...

For a service we don't want or need (free to use the nearby bridge) - Welcome to Thailand - hub of waste polystyrene raft canal boats.
