February 14, 201412 yr I'm on a 60-day double entry tourist visa. I entered Thailand on the 10th January and got a stamp 'til 10th March. My passport will have 5 months left on it by the time March 10th comes around. I have applied for a new passport. However worse case scenario and my new passport doesn't turn up in time...can I use my second entry tourist visa on my passport with about 5 months left on it. I know they look for 6 months' validity but I have read elsewhere on this forum that as long as the passport is valid for the length of the visa - which if I re-enter would be 60 days or 2 months - then I shouldn't have a problem. Can someone shed any light or clarify this for me?? Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
February 14, 201412 yr The problem that you will have is not with Thailand, but with the neighboring country that you must enter and exit to re-enter Thailand to activate the second entry. The neighboring countries require 6 months validity to enter. You should just extend your current entry for 30 days at inngration, cost 1900 baht, TM7 form, pictures and copies of your passport pages.

So the TMZ doesn't require you to leave & re-enter then? And can this be done on a passport with less than six months on it? Where can I get the form and how long does it take to process? February 15, 201412 yr Each 60 day entry can be extended at immigration fo 30 days at a cost of 1900 baht. Your pssport only has to be valid for the approved additional length of stay, not 6 months.

Their immigration office? And when would I go; on the day it expires or a few days before? And this is possible on a passport with less than 6 months? Thanks!Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
February 15, 201412 yr You can download Extension of Temporary Stay in The Kingdom Application Form (TM. 7) and print it two sided. You don't need 6 months passport validity to get the 30 day extension at immigration. How long it takes depends upon how busy the office you go to is. If not busy it can be done in minutes. I don't understand why it is baffling the extension is done by many people every day. You can get the extension as much as 2 week early and you loose no time because it starts at the end your current 60 day entry. You can do it at any immigration office. If in Bangkok you can go to either of the temporary offices because the normal office is closed. See: Immigration services at Cheang Wattana now suspended for info on the location.

Now I find I can just get an extension at an immigration office in Thailand which, from the sounds of it would be much easier. So it's 1900 baht for a 30 day extension?Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand I you get a new passport and get a tourist visa in it there is no reason you couldn't enter the country using it. If you had a tourist visa with more than one entry allowed and it was still valid in your old passport you could still use it by showing old passport on entry. You can get one 30 day extension for every 60 day entry.

Does that entitle me to a second extension or not?Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Your second entry therefore cannot be activated until you receive the new passport. The most that can be obtained from immigration is a further 7 days during which you will be expected to leave the country.
