Unexploded M 79 grenade found inside Civil Court compound

BANGKOK: -- The Civil Court became the target of perpetrators when an unexploded M79 grenade was found inside its compound at noon today.

A guard at the Civil Court on Ratchadapisek road found a suspicious object on the ground near a tree.

He inspected with other guards who later said was an unexploded grenade.

Phaholyothin police were alerted and used a car tyre to surround it for safety and reported the finding to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) police to detonate it.

Initially police believed it was fired into the compound, hit the tree and fell on the ground but unexploded.

Navy SEAL chief says foreign force responsible for Trat attack

BANGKOK: -- The commander of the Navy's SEAL elite troopers said foreign force was responsible for last night's bomb and gun attack at the rally site of the anti government People's Democratic Reform Committee which killed a 5-year-old girl and injured about 40.

SEC urged to probe stock transactions

BANGKOK: -- Pheu Thai deputy spokesman Anusorn Iamsa-ad on Sunday urged the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate irregular transactions on some stocks.

He said the People’s Democratic Reform Committee’s actions resulted in a steep fall in the prices of some stocks. He alleged that there is a group of investors who bought into the stocks and used the capital gains to finance the protests.

"These cold-hearted could do anything they want, even if it’s illegal. The SEC should investigate this."
