RandomSand
Weird. On another forum, which uses - what seems to be - very similar forum software, I can quote an OP. Is there any reason for this?
Crossy
It's turned off. Many members were quoting the OP in every post and then leaving a one line comment leading to very long pages. If you really want to quote the OP just copy and paste into a quote window (the speech balloon on the edit toolbar).
AyG
If you really want to quote the OP just copy and paste into a quote window (the speech balloon on the edit toolbar). Which is not available in BBCode mode. The quote also won't attribute the original poster. This is a (lacking) feature that has also been bugging me for some time. The solution isn't ideal. Mossfinn
There was a period where a lot of people kept requesting not to quote the whole OP and comment on a one line response. They didn't listen and the option was disabled, thankfully. Just copy and paste what is required, cutting out what you are not commenting on, far better for the majority, not so good for the minority, but the practice really was annoying. If you use BBCode mode then surround your quote with:- [quote] ... [/quote] True it won't automatically attribute, simply type 'from our OP' or something like that. Yes, the solution isn't ideal, if you can come up with a way to stop members quoting the whole OP and then including a one-line response we're all ears.
