Could TV share some stories of young expats over here who have taken a turn for the worse; fallen into a dead-end with little money, stuck with burdening families and having to deal with locals who just don't put up with anything outside of their ordinary day-to-day livelihood. We've heard enough stories of middle aged men.

Presumably you mean sub-35 years old? That being true, given the visa structure here, how many "young" expats can there possibly be in Thailand that have lived here long enough to get stuck like that!

There are many of us that are now 40+ that have lived here for 10+ years. The majority of the 20 somethings I know leave after 1-2 years and the few that have been here for 10+ years usually went to University here or have family that moved them here as teens.

Come back when you're middle aged - you'll fit right in then.

Obviously there are few young people living in Thailand who care to read what the old farts are whining about.

And who can blame them?
