U.S. expats in the Khorat area, American Services?

Every year, I need to make a trip to the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok to get my new income letter.

I don't enjoy Bangkok and it is a 4-5 hour journey, round trip.

Last year a nice gentleman at American Services told me that they do come north from time to time on an "Outreach" program and I could avoid the trip to into Bangkok.

Now that the Income letter is good for 6 months and not just 30 days, it sounded like a great idea.

Much to my surprise, when I went to the American Services website to see when they would be in the Khorat area, I discovered that the closest they come to Khorat is Khon Kaen!

I live about 50 km south of Khorat and Khon Kean is almost the same distance from my home as Bangkok.

There must be a lot of us American expats living close to and in Khorat.

I was wondering if enough of us were to email American Services and request they provide their services in Khorat as well.

I am guessing they come through Khorat on their way to Khon Kean and Udon Thani when they provide services in those cities.

Everyone I have ever talked with at American Services has been very nice and very helpful.

Maybe they can help with this?

Their email :

If you find yourself in the same situation as I am in and would like to avoid the Bangkok trip in the future, send them a nice email requesting they come to Khorat.

Maybe they will!

I was not permitted to give the email address of ACS..American Citizens Services, but it is easy to find if you search for it.

Thanks again
