Sorry if I’m asking this for the millionth time,i need to renew my Visa I’m on a non O being married to a Thai,is it still possible to do this in savannaket without proof of funds in the bank and what are my other options ? I was just granted a 30 day at Measai so i need to do it soon.

No changes at Savannakhet. Still no financial proof needed.

You could get a 60 day extension to visit you wife.

Or get a one year extension if you can show 400K baht in the bank for 60 days or 40k baht income.

I take it my requirements are Passport,Marriage papers, wifes id and house book, have i missed anything ?

That is everything you need plus a copy of your Lao visa/entry stamp.

So you can actually get a 60 day visa after getting married? I am in the process myself and have been doing tourist visas. I did not like the idea of seasoning 400k baht in Thailand due to the volatility but a 60 day visa for being married would be like frosting on a cake.

It is not a visa. It is an extension of stay to visit your wife you apply for at immigration. The fee is 1900 baht.

Your wife needs to go with you. You will need original plus copies of marriage certificate, wife's ID card and house book. Plus your passport photo page, visa (if any), entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card. If you are not living where wife's house book is for you will also need proof of residence.

excellent that is why I mentioned the mods being the best source of information in another post. I am on my second entry TV but figured it was cheaper to just drive to Burma and pay the 700baht(Non maybe 900) for a 30day border crossing. We will be married at the end of the week and my extension is not needed until around the 28th. We have lived together for almost 4 years and do indeed have a rental contract. Thanks Ubonjoe. Am I also to assume I can do this at any immigration office?

You have to do it at the immigration office where you are living. Thiat is one of the reasons for proof of residence.

And you can only get it once. Not back to back.

From Police order 777/2551

2.24 In the case of an alien visiting a Thai spouse or child:
Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 60 days at a time.
(1) Proof of relationship.
(2) In the case of a spouse, their marital relationship shall be de jure (legitimate) and de facto.

Just did it 23 Feb. No hassles. 5000 baht.

Since we were hijacked, my post is about Savannakhet.
