Mongkut Wattana hospital director appeals to thuggish gang to stop intimidation

webfact

Recommended Posts

No details, he filed no charges or complaints?

Just BS. Let me guess, he goes to the anti democratic rallies himself every day.

You really have a lot of angst and anger in you.

His appeal is nothing but rational and yet you are able to conclude it as BS.

I really feel sorry for you because you'll never be happy.

Thailand is not and will never be a socialist/communist nation

He makes his allegations on Facebook, not down at the local police station? Does he think that the alleged "thuggish gang" will read his comments on facebook and mend their ways or could it be that he wishes to appeal to a larger audience?

Mmm, let me think about that.

Yes, think about it really really hard.

I'm sure the police will do something about. Yeah, uh huh, about as sure as pigs can break dance.

It would be very refreshing if our resident PTP defenders on TVF could just come clean and condemn disgusting behaviour by the reds. But no, always excuses, blame it on others, name calling, it didn't happen, it was "false flag" attack etc.

They really come closer and closer to become Thai Rouge. Some seem to be just that.

I for one condemn the use of violence. And I'm brave enough to say it. There you go. Next...

So - you are a red shirt? Congrats

You are not? Then it's normal

Every time I see the word 'redshirts' and 'hospitals' in the same sentence, I cannot but help remember that barbaric ritual several years ago, when the redshirt leaders started collecting human blood from their supporters, which they then proceeded to splatter and daub over Goverment House amongst other places. I find it bizarre that such people could be considered to run a country, other than to run it into the ground.

Do you realise that you are living in a country where about 90% of the population hold animistic and superstitious beliefs ???

You might find what happened bizarre but I find it amusing that AV probably countered the "threat" with his own animistic rites...........

I think Thailand is in Asia.

Is it possible for you to sink any lower in your attempts to demonize the anti-government side?

Yes, I know that animism plays a large role in Thai society, but the splattering of human blood ritual, well, I found that too much. What's this about Abi V doing a counter ritual? I missed that one, surprised that he's taken in by the voodoo element. Yes, Thailand is very much in Asia lol, and I do try not to judge society here too much with 'western values'.

He obviously restrained from making official complaint or charges in order to try and stay a-political in his role as head of the hospital. Using the fact that he did not take legal action against thuggish Red mob causing him, his staff and his hospital problems, as a way for stating he must be "Yellow" is about as illogical as it can be.

Is this an ongoing story or something out of left field? Where are the details and reports of what is going on at that hospital?

Suthep has been calling Yingluck a "demon" every night in his speeches. You can read it in The Nation, BP or the official PDRC Facebook page.

Makes me wonder if Suthep can sink any lower ...

Their loudspeakers were blasting constantly, disrupting patients and hospital staff every day almost 24 hours. No one could rest properly.

So, what about the PDRC loudspeekers blasting around in the city for the past 4 months?

Has it cured any patients yet?

That's wrong of him to call her that.

She's not a demon. She's just a lackey to the real demon.

Why would anyone disbelieve him? The UDD/Red shirt militants have history of raiding hospitals and mistreating patients and elderly. Just to refresh your memory.

The April Raids on Chulalongkorn Hospital

When the UDD set up a new protest site at Ratchaprasong junction on April 3, protesters

began building barricades of bamboo poles and tires between Chulalongkorn Hospital and

Lumphini Park on Ratchadamri Road. Patients were left with only one lane to access the

hospital. The hospital administration asked Thai authorities to clear the area, but the CRES

responded that additional security would not be provided.114

In the weeks that followed, tensions mounted between hospital staff and the UDD. UDD

security forces, some wielding knives and sharpened bamboo staves, began to inspect

vehicles entering the hospital due to the belief that doctors at the facility supported the

Yellow Shirts and the government.115 On several occasions, protesters searched ambulances

with acutely ill patients, hospital officials said, claiming that soldiers could hide weapons in

those vehicles. None were found. Hospital staff described the UDD protesters taunting and

verbally harassing them on their way to the hospital. Nonetheless, hospital staff continued

to treat UDD protesters for acute traumatic injuries and exacerbations of chronic illnesses.

One doctor told Human Rights Watch:

[H]ospital administration urged the Red Shirts many times not to disrupt our

daily services, but they did not listen. Their loudspeakers were blasting

constantly, disrupting patients and hospital staff every day almost 24 hours.

No one could rest properly. Their barricades and the way their guards

searched ambulances, as well as any cars that went in and out, had

increasingly made everyone, hospital staff and patients, feel unsafe. Would

you feel safe if you had to go through these Red Shirt guards when some of

them had knives and sharpened bamboo stakes, and they searched your

cars and your bags?

Some of them were drunk and rude. My colleague had green and red beams

from laser pointers on his face and his chest as he drove through the

hospital gate. The Red Shirt guards thought it was quite funny to see doctors

freaked out. But I think that was a very bad joke, especially when many

people had been shot by snipers.

Many senior doctors had their cars smashed by Red Shirt guards. The Por Bor

Ror Building [in the hospital compound, next to Saladaeng junction] had

been shot with guns and other projectiles every night. You could see bullet

holes on the wall and on the window. At one point, we could not turn on the

light inside Por Bor Ror Building, this was to avoid being shot at.

That's the reality for all of Thailand if Thai Rouge takes control. They talk about "democracy" but it's more of back to "year 0"!

The Medical establishment hates Thaksin.

So when one of them unloads on the PTP or Red Shirts as reported here, consider the source.

Why this hatefullness?

Mostly because of the 30-baht hospital program Thaksin introduced.

It deprived the Medical Establishment of a 'golden goose"....Controlling access to hospital services was hugely profitable for them.

However, the anti-UDD/RS media conveniently fails to mention this little factoid. Same as when Medical Establishment elements participate with the coup-mongers, it is reported as if independent and unbiased entities are exhibiting self-righteous indignation.

One of the most ill-informed posts I've seen. Absolute nonsense. Edited by mrtoad

I'm right by the hospital and Cheangwattana protest site. They have some of the most wonderful music, traditional Thai classics, instrumental folk music with flutes and other instruments, even a variety of Western folk music. Watched the sunset the other day to the sound of Amazing Grace in the background. Music is on low in the evenings, doubt anyone in the hospital can here it even in the day.

You do remember the 'reds' occupied the same spot to intimidate the constitutional court, right? They were here for months too. Every single night they turnedthe volume up and blasted the most god awful low grade disco music at until 2 am even though no one was around, just to intimidate the land spirits I guess.

The only discordant noise from the site now is the almost nightly sound of gunfire and grenades, and the occasional wail of an ambulance from Mongut Watthana.

You are pathetic. Google the Rural Doctors Society of Thailand and bring yourself up to speed on a subject you clearly know nothing about. In particular, read about their warnings about how it would be better for ALL of the poor if the existing health services were expanded sensibly, how the 30 baht scheme would drain the national health service of funds (see how health authorities are now scrambling to screw money out of the social security scheme?), how such a rashly conceived scheme didn't take into account the limited resources of rural medical facilities, how they pleaded for more health education to avoid being overrun by people with head colds, how - and this is very important - the role of a doctor has been diminished by this scheme so much that unis can no longer fill their student places (first time ever). And let's not forget the other fiasco of trying to screw rural doctors out of their hardship posting allowances. Yeah, Thaksin has done a lot for medicine in this country.

What you conveniently forget to mention is that Abhisit , in a final desperate attempt to win an election, adopted a FREE system ( and had to drop it when the boffins told him the country would go broke).

They made it free because it costs more than 30 baht to collect the 30 baht.

Doctors are always there trying to heal everyone, whether red or not. But these reds cannot help themselves. They always have to intimidate someone. Do we all remember when they stormed the hospital at 2010? What kind of animals go after people who are actually trying to help others? The attacking of medical professionals is the lowest of lower.

"What kind of animals go after people who are actually trying to help others?"

Oo Oo, I know! The army, they murdered at least one nurse and one medic and wounded others while they were attending to the wounded in a temple in 2010.

Whilst under the orders of Suthep, (the butcher of Bangkok giggle.gif.pagespeed.ce.AcGRO3FsZu.gif), I believe.

Next question.

Most people that work in hospitals have better things to do than file complaints. We generally our more concerned with our patients well being. Irrespective of race, gender or political persuasion. Only disgusting idiots or the Khmer Rouge threaten, intimidate and harass hospitals and hospital staff.

"Only disgusting idiots or the Khmer Rouge threaten, intimidate and harass hospitals and hospital staff."

Quite right! Because Suthep's Army murdering nurses and medics in 2010 was alright because it was only in a Temple!
